Iraqi Airways have announced from 15 march 1 weekly erbil on Wednesdays and 1 weekly Sulibaiah on sundays. Will post times and flight numbers when i get on my laptop.

Times:

Sulaimaniya
IA265 ISU 1200 MAN 2000
IA26 MAN 2200 ISU 0630

Wednesdays

Erbil
IA267 EBL 1200 MAN 2000
IA268 MAN 2200 EBL 0630

Sundays

Both flights use B737-800 and stop at Vienna inbound from Iraq.

Flights are now fully bookable on their website and start on 15th March instead of previously reported 18th March.

B737-800 YI-ASQ doing the honours of the first flight today.

The 2 weekly ISU/EBL flights will now route via Malmo inbound, rather than Vienna.

No reason for the change has been given, however, as VIE had no traffic rights on either sector, it makes little difference to the flights anyway.

According to GDS availability, flights between Manchester and Iraq on Iraqi Airways are sold out until October.

Must surely need an increase of some sort, they must be beating the pax of with a stick!

Ive read the Iraqi flight today will operate from Sulaimaniyah to Malmo as B738 YI-ASQ,then Malmo -Manchester will be operated by B734 9H-VVB.Ive heard it did the same on the Gatwick route yesterday i believe.I cant see this really as dosnt the B738 hold more pax then the B734 ?

Its been reported that IAW267 later is back to normal and YI-ASQ is operating the flight. But im not convinced yet as yesterday B734 9H-VVB operated the Gatwick flight from Baghdad.

Been reported on another mailing list,9H-VVB which has been operating Iraqi flights to both LGW and MAN over the last week has now positioned to st Athan. The LGW flights have now been operated by B734 4L-GSN of Luftline Georgia, one to look out for tomorrow night. :s_thumbsup

The Iraqi flights are all being operated at the moment by A320 SX-BDS which is enroute now from Malmo. The flights now are really getting confusing, the sunday flight arrives from Malmo sunday night then night stops and departs at 07:00 monday morning to Iraq,Then arrives back at Manchester on monday evening. After that it goes out empty to Gatwick to operate their flight. I dont know why it dose this its all confusing to me

Iraqi Airways look to be attempting a return to Manchester.

Flights have been re-loaded into GDS for a 13th March start. Sulamanyia on Sunday's, Erbil on Mondays.

Timings and days seem to indicate an aircraft lease again, hopefully cuts down positioning costs.

They will need to satisfy EASA first if they are to return to European skies. Maybe the lease of aircraft will suffice.

I think there could be a large chance although nothing is mentioned of MAN in the report. I believe the route did relitavely well.

According to a German publication Iraqi Airlines are/have regained authority to fly to the UK Sweden and Germany with own aircraft and in fact an A320 YI-ASB operated BGW-MMX-LGW-ISU with scheduled flight number today.

Its my understanding that they were excluded because of mx record deficiencies with the 738 fleet so the use of a 32x seems logical.

Now whats the likeness of a return to Manchester soon ?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
