Deserves it's own thread I think;

From March 29 Sun Air will take over BHX-GOT followng the closure of BMI's base there.
Flights will be daily (excluding Saturday's)

Very pleased to see GOT continuing - do we count this one as a return for BA? 😆

Aircraft type?

It sure is good to see it continue, from what I hear it was doing pretty well with BMI Regional. It'll be nice to see the BA livery back at BHX again and it's another Oneworld airline, albeit a BA affiliate.

GOT sure has had some operators over the years, Birmingham European, Maersk Air, British Airways, Skyways, City Airline, BMI Regional and now Sun Air.

Lets hope it's a success :drinks:

It'll be on a Dornier.

Im hearing the deal may now have fallen through, trying to find out more. I heard a quote saying 'our summer schedule sees increases in the form of a new route to Cambridge from Gothenburg, and increased flights on Manchester to Billund', with no mention of BHX.

Like I ay, Ill try and find out whats happening.

I think we can say that this was a false dawn as Cambridge has now appeared on the Sun Air website but no BHX.

Thats a shame but never say never. I must say "Cambridge" is a bit of a strange choice ??????

Cambridge is for a contract with Astra Zenica. Fills out 3/4 of the cabin before any seats hit the public sales.

Was the contract which was originally going to get BHX started, but, Cambridge got wind and asked 'why not here'.

It has been mentioned on another forum that Sun Air still plan to operate BHX-GOT but no start date at present.

We may still see them at BHX in the future.

There are rumours that Cambridge Airport are to stop passenger services and concentrate on general aviation. I've seen nothing official but if it's true then we may have a chance of getting Sun Air.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
