2 VLM flights today, with the 2nd service Antwerp-Aberdeen-Birmingham-Antwerp starting today, twice a week Wed & Fri.

I wonder what the passenger loads were like? - At last good news for BHX!!!

Depends on what the prices are. Eastern Airways often has low loads but they are expensive so that makes up for it.

Always an odd set up but good news as suggests solid loads are possible on the route.

I do sometimes have to question who is in charge of these airlines. I mean which bright spark at VLM made this decision to route ARN-ABZ via BHX anyway ?

To be honest I'm not surprised. VLM appear to have great plans but are over ambitious. If their Manchester service gets off the ground then I'll just it a couple of months before that too is cancelled.

VLM now join BMIR in the 'why even bother' camp.

With an average of 10 pax per flight I don't think they'll be overly missed.

Just read something about VLM starting operations with an A321....this firm seems all over the place !

They have 2 A320s already that they got from Thomas Cook Belgium and use them for charters. They flew them into Cardiff for the French rugby airlift in February.

They'll probably try to grow that side as generally charter and wet lease aircraft are in demand especially in the summer.
