UK airports public transport links - survey results

The Independent has graded the main UK airports according to their transport links.

Southampton is regarded as the best with Southend (at position 23) the worst. The full 'league table' can be seen at the below link.

I'm surprised at some of the findings. I thought that Southend's rail connection was a major plus. Gatwick is at position 20 yet it has the Gatwick Express and other rail links with a motorway almost outside the airport.

UK's easiest - and hardest - airports to reach

This year's Independent survey has been published with London City in first place (replacing last year's 'winner' Southampton) and Southend in last place (position 26) as it was last year.

The methodology seems a touch abstruse.
