Couldn't find a thread for this airline so made a new one.If there is one already started, feel free to merge.
We haven't had any news for this airline for a while, but whilst reading through some aviation news items online,I noticed a story that I don't think has been covered on here.
The story says that Brussells Airlines are replacing their remaining 4 Avro RJ100s this summer and bringing in 3 more A319s and 2 A320s.
Hopefully this means we will see these Airbuses at BHX in due course. However I am not sure how this route is doing right now, although I believe FlyBe still have a contract to operate Dash 8Qs on the BHX route,as well as others.
I have also seen the night stopping flight is usually an RJ so I would have thought we will see Airbuses on a regular basis later in the year.

Brussels is 4x daily, 3x AR1 and 1x Flybe Q400.

If it does swap to Airbus then I guess there is always the option to drop to 3x daily? That said look at how well Munich is doing since it changed from the Embraer.

One to keep an eye on.

Manchester was 3 daily A319/320 last time I looked, although I heard a fourth flight was to start at some point. Brussels Airlines competes with Ryanair daily flights to Charleroi at MAN. I think there's no reason BHX shouldn't also swap to an all Airbus operation at some point, but I think dropping to 3 daily might not be the best idea as there is always the possibility of Flybe taking over a second daily rotation if initial loads aren't too high.

Only a couple of years ago one BHX rotation from Brussels was operated by Austrian Dash 8s, although I don't know if this was a fifth daily rotation which was then scrapped (I think it might have been as I remember seeing an advert saying Brussels had 5 daily flights at BHX).

Brussels Airlines will have three flights combined into one tomorrow with SN1547 operating from Antwerp.

It's due in to Birmingham at 19:30.

Not sure of the aircraft type. It may well be the usual AR1 as many of the passengers have been rerouted on other flights.

BHX-BRU has never generated a high load factor but according to BHX it maintains high fares so very profitable (one of BHX most profitable routes).
Not sure how Brexit will affect this in the future,

Been discussing a Brussels Airlines liveried Flybe DH 8-400 in the CWL forum as it turned up there today on the Saturday Flybe Dusseldorf-Cardiff service. Looking at earlier posts in this thread it seems that one of the daily BHX-BRU rotations is on a DH 4-800. Is this a Flybe aircraft in Brussels Airlines livery?

Jethros suggests that Flybe have two DH 8-400s flying for Brussels Airlines - G-ECOI and G-ECOK (the one at CWL today).

Yes that's correct, although aircraft rotation often results in the Brussels Airlines-liveried Q400s being deployed on Flybe routes and vice versa.

Many thanks jfy.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
