One of my favourite tracks from 82/83
Good ol brummie lads except singer Dee Harris who is a yank. Could have done with longer guitar strap I think.

Cool! I think this line up played a few gigs in brum, one was at the holy city zoo and needless to say I managed to miss it. Went to see them later at the Odeon after Harris had left, think it was Al Darby that replaced him.

Epic TFF performance.
On a different note (ha ha ) toy fair at the nec on the 8th and a vintage radio show the following week at Stoneleigh. Might be able to pick up the elusive 1/400 red tail 1-11 and find an old realistic jetstream(y)

I did have most of the Dragon Wings Warbirds series - C-5, KC10 Great White scheme, KC-135, C-130s, SR71 etc but sold them as we needed some cash:( the manin die casts i have been looking for are a BA 1-11 400 srs ala G-BGKF etc as i was shown over this at BHX as a kid spotter, also a Britannia AW 732 as i flew on one with my late parents, also a BMA B707 G-BFLE/G-BMAZ as i flew on these to and from PMI some years ago.

It was seeing a 1/400 britannia 737 on ebay that got me started collecting,, the 737 is a nice model. Made by aviation 400 and were available with black or red britannia titles. fortunately the one i stumbled across had black titles, I think the red came along in the early 80s so were just too late for me. Nearly bought a twin set of red tail 1-11s, one with original British Airways titles and the other the slightly later BRITISH version. Still also looking out for an aer lingus 737/200 (in the mid 70s green not white with green cheatlines). Some models are proving really hard to get and some havent been produced yet. Hoping aeroclassics get round to making a Monarch super one eleven as thats a type that will forever remind me of sitting in the warm of the old viewing lounge on cold winters afternoons wishing the fog would come down at Luton or Manchester.

Anyone know if it's okay to put up photos from someones Flickr account if they are public?

As far as I'm aware there is an option on their Flickr photo's to get a link to share them. That then displays their photo's and gives the photographers name and a link directly to their album. If that link isn't available for sharing then it's probably best not to.

It should look something like this.

The photo in question was taken by a prolific Birmingham photographer who I would have seen on many occasions a few decades ago! The album does have the option to share.

Perhaps, contact the person and ask their permission.

I would if I knew how to. The photo in question is one of a number taken on Friday November 10th 1978, I was there on that day but cant remember how I got out of going to school. ;)

What's the first film you ever saw?
I had quite a bizarre introduction to the cinema. In 1969 I was taken to see The Love Bug with my mate and his parents, nothing unusual about that but a couple of months later my Dad took me to see The Battle of Britain, goodness knows how he got me in because I was only 7 at the time and I think the film would have been an 'A' certificate. Anyway loved the film except for when the Heinkel gunner gets shot! Was at the Beaufort cinema in Stechford which I think is now an Aldi or a B and Q?

I believe that my first ever cinema experience was The Empire Strikes Back. I have vague memories of my dad taking me to the old Warwick cinema in Acocks Green.

He used to take me regularly and I can remember us going to see Return of the Jedi, A View to a Kill and Raiders of the Lost Arc. The best however must have been Condorman starring Micheal Crawford o_O:rolleyes:

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
