I've been keeping quiet about footy results, as I've watched the Saddlers slip closer and closer to relegation. I'm much relieved that they have gained the one point required for safety against Bradford with a game to spare.
I'm also delighted to see Wolves win the Championship and hope they can get the 100 points they deserve, in their last game (my Mom was a Wolves fan and regularly went to Molineaux with my Grandad in the 1950's - as a kid, I had a tracksuit with a Wolves badge on it - then two linked black 'W''s on a gold background).
My hopes are that Villa will also get promoted and Blues survive to become stronger next season.
I wold also like to see Burton survive. I'd like to see as many West Mids clubs as possible in the Premiership - it would be great for the region.
Sadly, I think it's too late for the Baggies, but we can hope.

10,000 posts. Say 2 mins per post. 20,000 mins. That's 333 hours. 47.6 days. Add to that all the time you have spent, Ray, reading through our musings and you have spent a darn good proportion of your young years on here. The Forum's equivalent of Donald Trumps Tweeter account, although your postings are, most of the time, rational, and generally make sense!

Thank you, I think :cautious: :)

It's been six years since I joined this forum and back then there was only one or two members, it felt like I was talking to myself most of the time (not that I'm known for that sort of thing :shifty:). Over the years it's grown into a great community and we continue to attract more members. Obviously the boom that we witnessed in recent years will have helped but even though things have slowed this year, I am so glad that the vast majority of Birmingham forumers are still active. I do enjoy reading all of the posts, we have some great discussions and a nice bit of humour too.

Thank you to you all for making this place what it is (y)

Compliment Ray...I think. ;)

The forum is a great. First place I go to online In the morning to see whether a CEO has been appointed overnight but also to catch sight any unexpected visitors and the first site I go after work. Living away from Brum it is a great way to keep in touch. Every now and then we fall out but a virtual beer soon puts that right and to think: one of our number has raised the real prospect of saving the Elmdon terminal! Cool.

Roll on the next 6 years!

Read a quote today from Steve Bruce regarding the play offs which i think is the first time he has acknowledged that
he was once Blues boss since he went to Villa.(Sensible chap)
He says the Blues team he took up first time contained a bunch of dogs and mongrels that would run over there
Grandmother to get a result.Happy Days. KRO

The "hardest player i saw was a little Scottish player called Bertie Auld in the 1960' we played Fulham (yes them again ) and in the corner by the Tilton and main stand he layed a Fulham defender flat out, their center half ran over to sort Bertie out and ran straight info a perfect left hook leaving the pair of them spark out, Bertie unsurprisingly was sent off. Later he was sold to Celtic and played in the European Cup Winning team in Lisbon.

How about Kenny Burns. He was also blessed? with the looks to go with his reputation. Also a European cup winner twice. Rumour has it he left Trevor Francis spark out on the training field!

Burns and Francis hated each other, that's for sure. I saw Trevor Hockey's debut for Villa and he made a tackle just before half time and was so late I tell you all the players had gone off before he completed it. Horrible player, should have stayed where he was ;);)

Now this is what you call a city

SIMPLY BIRMINGHAM

Thanks for this. The HSBC building is taller than its storey count suggests. I am on a rare visit to Solihull in two weeks and hope to spend some time in the city centre. See if I can get some good snaps. Brum X has set a high standard mind you.

Following my little rant on the Ryanair thread we were getting side tracked so to answer Mr Dempsey La Caracola is still there but closed today as like many restaurants there do one day a week, our visit to Entaco's went brilliant (not) as today is also their day off
So we went to the Irish Tavern which is not a tavern its a restaurant and it's not really Irish as the owner is Spanish but his wife is Irish so perhaps it is Irish after all Mogan is that sort of place you know layed back relaxed and make it up as you go all part of life's rich pattern.Tomorrows challenge is find somewhere to watch the Blues as only a few places show the footy and what they put on the boards outside often a bit of a guess hey ho.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
