Admiring the bike, but also the fantastic patio you have. Did you build that yourself?
Ah, the garden. Bit of a sore point. Until last year it was a lawn with a flower bed on the right but due to the next door neighbours bloody great ash tree and her selfishness in not having anything taken off it the grass was impossible to maintain so we took the decision to get shot of it hence the patio and pathway. A landscaper was called in and that's the result. Looks nice but would have rather spent the money on something else

You are probably already aware, but legally you have the right to cut off any foliage that overhangs the boundary of your property. However you must offer said cuttings to your neighbour, as it is their property. 'Offer' can be read as 'throw it over the fence'.

Yes, I am aware of that and have had tree surgeons take off the overhang a number of times. Problem is now the tree is so high it can't be done from the ground anymore so access has to be gained in order to climb up from next doors property.Another consequence is that we lost the satellite signal a couple of years ago and have been forced to use BT whom deliver an awful service and equally poor programmes. Each time any pruning takes place we are faced with a bill of around £250 which frankly is an outrage. Stupid woman even refuses to have anything taken off the height, I can only hope that eventually it becomes so unbalanced it gets blown over or that it develops ash die back disease. (y)

So one of the biggest games in the Midlands football calendar is not on any television channel, anywhere (BT Sport 3 are showing Sassuolo vs Napoli live) and even Radio WM have no commentary (only on DAB I think?). Football in this city really is in a dire state :(

Edit, I think Radio WM have commentary just not through their website. Time to dig out an old FM radio :)

Radio WM had commentary on fm,looking at it from a BCFC perspective.
On DAB and on the stations internet service, commentary was from Villas' point of view.
An interesting and non biased way of bringing the game to its' audience,or so they thought.
Just heard a fan phone the aftermatch phone-in accusing the station, who listened to the match on fm,of biased towards Villa.
There is just no pleasing some people is there???

It's not just in Birmingham that this sort of thing happens in a two or multi-club city. The local Bristol radio and newspaper are often accused by Bristol Rovers fans of being pro-Bristol City and vice versa.

Speaking of which, there could be an almighty relegation battle in two weeks time at the Ashton Gate ground of Bristol City. I believe that 'Arry's team is visiting and either club might need the points to stay up.

I think that Bristol should be safe now.

It looks to be between Birmingham and Blackburn for the drop although Notts Forest could get drawn in. Ironically we need Villa to do us a favour and beat Blackburn this weekend, lots of my Villa friends already have Blackburn tops ready.

Yes I think it will be an odd afternoon,do i cheer a Villa goal or jump up and down when Blackburn score,a no lose
situation i suppose. I would miss the derby if the Blues go down though!

As a Villa supporter of nearly 40 years,I want to see my team win every match possible.
The way they are playing now,in fact the way they have been playing for the last 3/4 years, any win is a bonus.Even when they started winning regularly earlier this year,we were not exactly dominating matches.
We have a very long way to go before Villa can start thinking about promotion and then staying in the premier league.
As for BCFC,if they get relegated it is because they have not been good enough over 40+ matches and nothing to do with what Villa will or will not do.If they lose against Blackburn who will know if it was deliberate or not.As I said they have been poor all season so a defeat would not or should not be a surprise to anyone.
All that said I would love to see all our local teams doing well, and all in the premier league.
Me thinks it could be a while before that happens:(

If Blues get relegated it will be down to one of the worst managerial appointments in recent times.

Gianfranco Zola was one hell of a player and is a genuinely nice guy but his record in management speaks for itself. If they do survive it'll be interesting to see what happens and whether Harry Redknapp will take the job permanently.

Me too.

The Premier League has such a huge exposure round the world and our region needs to be there. If it wasn't for The Baggies we'd have nothing :(

No chance thankfully.'Arry is 70 and loves living on the south coast. He has never managed or played for anyone
in the uk north of Tottenham. This is just a nice little earner and for him a no lose situation. That's if he fully knows what
he has signed up for.Didn't he once say in court, presumably under oath, that he could hardly read and write.
The Blues ownership is so shrouded in mystery that any decent manager with a choice will say no thanks.
Remember Steve Bruce could not get away fast enough when he had dealings with the previous owners(if they are previous owners)
What has happened at St Andrews in the last few years is shocking and in any other business would have brought
criminal proceedings.

If Villa lose to Blackburn it will be because they weren't good enough, not because they "threw" the game. Players
are not like fans, they play for new contracts etc. not with local rivalries in mind. However having watched them home
and away all season we probably WILL lose for the reasons given above. It really must be sorted out in the summer
or we will just get the same dross played next season, here's hoping

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
