Thank you kindly kevin for those very kind words,Some wonderful photos there Elmdon80slad. I haven't looked through all of them yet, but was very impressed with the B1 and B52 shots.
Looking through the headings, it seems that you have very similar interests to myself (aviation, wildlife and astronomy).
It would be interesting to know what camera kit you use and any special techniques.
Regards
Kevin
I certainly don't like the new format, with the arrivals/departures now being shown on a slim window to the left of the main view.I'm sure a lot on the forum will have noticed the new format on FR24 when you click on an airport to look at arrivals/departures.Has anybody else noticed that when you then click on routes Birmingham is not shown on the map? Manchester, Liverpool,Glasgow and Edinburgh are but not the UK's second city.
Anybody know how to complain?
Thanks Elmdan80sladThank you kindly kevin for those very kind words,
I use a Nikon D7100 with an older screw drive Nikkor 300 f4 AF ID lens, nothing overly special about how I took the photos - with the airshow and bomber deployement to Fairford, it was all down to the gear I just kept the shutter speed up 1/1600sec and just framed the shots, my lens has no IS or VR so I need to keep the shutter speed over 1/1000sec to avoid motion blur.
Editing is done in Lightroom 5 and Topaz de-noise , kind of a ongoing learning curve - as most things are these days, I set the website up to see if any of my jpeg files might be sellable, and to see what happens.
Thnaks again.

Thanks Elmdan80slad
Your Nikon D7100 sensor's 24MP puts my ageing D200's 10.1MP in the shade. I guess that the 300mm lens' screw drive can be a bit slow in focusing, but you obviously know what you're doing as shown by your excellent photos.
On my part, I always shoot in RAW and mostly use Nikon Capture NX-D/Nikon ViewNX-I for processing.

Kevin
I agree with that Kevin but what i got my back up is that the the map without any route network displayedMany might be forgiven though, for thinking that the above network is from Liverpool (as 'Birmingham' or 'BHX' is not shown).
More work needed FR24!
BBC weather map on the news always has Brum sitting proudly in the centre of England and features none of them northern cities mentioned on fr24. I try and not get too bothered about stuff like this anymore, they can't feature all cities every time and somebody is going to get upset but hey hoI agree with that Kevin but what i got my back up is that the the map without any route network displayed
does not show Birmingham at all but does the other cities i mentioned.

Hiya Kevin,Hi Elmdon80slad
I've just been having a look at some more of your excellent photos. I'm really impressed with your two shots of Jupiter, showing the Galilean moons. Did you take those with your 300mm F4 lens?
Also, if I may be so bold - in your section 'Static Birds', you have one labelled 'Robin'. I'm pretty certain it's a Chaffinch.
Regards
Kevin
Thanks for your reply Elmdon80slad.Hiya Kevin,
Yep both Jupiter shots where with my 300 f4 its a steller lens in just about every department, but there are a mix of other cameras I have owned in there like Nikon D90, D200 and Canon 30D with a mix of Nikkor 55-300VR, Nikkor 70-300VR and Canon 55-250.
I thought it was a Robin but you might be right.
I was hoping to post my site in a more visable place on here, but not sure where would be best?

Hi Kevin,Thanks for your reply Elmdon80slad.
I'll have to give astrophotography a go!. I have a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR along with both Nikon 1.4x and 2.0x tele-converters, which should give an effective 400mm (600mm compared to FX sensor). I know that my D200 can't match the digital resolution of your D7100, but hopefully I'll get some results.
I assume that you used a tripod and boosted the ISO, as there is no blur to the planet or moons.
Now I just need to wait for Jupiter to be visible in the northern hemisphere (and clear skies).
Regards
Kevin
