One thing for sure foreign ownership may bring extra cash but it doesn't give you the stability by sacking managers every so often. Only four months ago Harry was the saviour and Hero. How quickly things turn against you in football. Really hope the next appointment is given time.

It was a smart move by the club to be decisive now. A few more games of this and we would be in serious trouble. Act now and boost morale.

Whatever the decision they need someone who can gel the team, get the fans on side quickly, get us out of the mire and, realistically, aim for headier heights next season. We should never have let Houghton go. And ditto Rowett. Pretty pathetic that we can not retain quality at the club. So they should go for quality and look a long term contract that enables us to grow with that manager. Problem with Harry is that there could never be a long term plan when your manager, however good his career has been, is on a 1 year contract. The players want a stayer and stability.

Wish Rednapp a happy retirement.

And to think that many Bristol City fans who can't stand their head coach Lee Johnson were demanding he be replaced through most of last season, and when relegation seemed ever more likely they were screaming for someone like Redknapp or Rowett to take over (before they joined the Blues and Derby respectively). Well Redknapp did save the Blues from the Third Division (by beating Bristol City in the last match of the season) and their only win in the league this season has been against against Bristol City, the latter's only league defeat so far. Rowett was the Derby manager beaten 4-1 yesterday by Lee Johnson's Bristol City.

It really is a funny old game.

I think this is more suited to 'Random Stuff' rather than 'Route Development' :)

Atmosphere Intercontinental Airlines have aims to start daily flights from Stansted to Dubai, Oman, Mumbai, Delhi, Goa and Bangkok. Following that further bases are planned for London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, London Southend, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh!

The money is to be raised using a gofundme page. So far it seems they have £2030 so well on their way to the £500,000,000 needed.

Maybe a code share with Africaada could be on the cards :)

Just got back to sunny Essex....albeit night time....after a trip to Plymouth. Follows on from a trip to Soilyhill to see mum and family over the weekend. Managed to pass by:

Stapleford no activity
Luton couple of Squeezyjets taking off.
BHX on the way to Mums nothing much, to the sorrow of my son looking forward to having a 388 landing on the bonnet as daddy has promised him
BHX on way back was better with' I think' an emirates on the runway looking lovingly at 10000 feet of Britain's finest asphalt ahead of taking off, with a Qatar holding on the taxiway and what looked like an Irish green turboprop on final approach...after the emirates had departed.
Stansted was very quiet on Sunday with a couple of Ryanair....a rare thing to see one of those actually flying and a Squeezyjet.

Yesterday on the way to Plymouth, Heathrow had literally millions of things in and out and to my left on the southern half of the M25 there were a couple finals into Gatwick.
A chinnock crossed out path on the M3 I assume off to odiham
No activity at Southampton, Bournemouth and Exeter.

Today went to the park and ride North of Plymouth and blow me there airport is still closed. A sad sight to see it mothballed like that. Doubt of it will ever reopen.
Exter was silent as was Yeovilton. I thought ha ha it is night time will I see something sneak out of Boscome some weird 6 winged stealth monster but alas lots of landing lights and a couple of bored looking hanger.
Popham unsurprisingly closed in the dark but as the m3 approached the M25 could see 5 aircraft on final into LHR pretty perfectly spaced across the skyline of London.
After than nothing.

All in all 977 miles driven and the prospect of a trip this weekend to Silverstone and back...

What struck me is that you are never far away from an airport in this country, whether big or small. And on top of that an endless stream of over flights. How lucky we are.

As a 'local lad', I was well aware of the old Walsall aerodrome. In fact, as a member of 425 SQN Air Training Corps (Aldridge), we often held exercises on the land (by then, just open grassland).
My Dad told me that during the war years, it had many mock up bombers on site to confuse the enemy into thinking we had more aircraft than we actually did.
Somewhat more recently (but still probably the best part of 30 years ago), there were suggestions of re-opening it as a business airport for Walsall. It's proximity to BHX and being under the flight path for R15 put paid to that.

Lucky that it's not in Coventry. The council would have concreted it over and built a retail park and student accommodation on it.:mooning:

That sure is some great footage.

I wonder if future generations will look back at our videos of endless 737's and A320's with the same kind of nostalgia.

Possibly if the tech has advanced as much as it did between the 60s and now. Way back it was the surprise that I loved the most. Not really knowing what was next. The Elmdon ramp has days lilenthat judging by some of the snaps on here.

Superb video, I agree with 58terminus about the liveries amongst my favorites Qantas V-jet on the 707, BOAC especially on the VC10 and all time best Pan Am on anything.

So, we should find out tomorrow if the Government give us their backing to go forward with the bid for the Commonwealth Games. With much of the infrastructure already in place I like to think that we have a decent chance, this, however, is Birmingham needing Government backing which always makes me slightly :nailbiting:

In other news Birmingham Arena will host the Gymnastics World Cup in March 2018 :)

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
