Great to see outdated perceptions of Birmingham slowly a thing of the past. However i think the main offenders for people rubbishing our city are the uneducated cretins of this city and not people from outside. Some of the stuff you read on social media is nothing short of ridiculous.

A few more additions to my die cast collection. Managed to find a series 63 CP Air DC8 which is soo long!
Also a box set representing Coventry Airport.
I once flew on the DC3 G-AMRA, have had lunch on the DC6 G-SIXC and think I saw the Electra on an episode of ice pilots when Buffalo Airways came to Baginton to buy and ferry one back to Canada. View attachment 4055 View attachment 4056 View attachment 4057 View attachment 4058

Honours even then at St A. It would have been unbearable for the former Sir Bruce to have won.

A few pictures from our recent trip to Spain.

Sunrise. This was meant to capture the soft pink glow from the cabin lighting but didn't quite work

I do have a Ghana VC10,SAS 742,PanAM 741, Midland 707,F27,DC3,Transavia Caravelle,DanAir 727,BEA viscount
BEA trident,LTU Tristar,Condor DC10,Monarch Britannia,BA 737,Aer Lingus 732. Probably forgot a couple but would
love to expand it a bit, Regards Steve

Are those in 1/400 or 200?
Problem is it becomes a bit of an addiction plus some models are very rare and therefore expensive or frustratingly haven't even produced yet such as BMA herald and viscount or Monarch super one eleven.
I had someone produce a custom BMA herald for me but is quite poor and therefore remains in its box . The collection has also gained some additions which I never saw at Birmingham but did see elsewhere, an example of which is a Gulf Air L1011 which I bought tonight because I haven't been able to lay my hands on a British airways red tail version and desperately wanted a Tristar. Also tempted by the Transavia caravelle because no one has made a 732 in 1/400.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
