Thanks Ray. Very fair-minded which, as a neutral in the Birmingham football scene, I applaud.:artist:

Im not a football fan at all, however whilst walking through town today i noticed the AVFC shop on New Street has closed down, things must be bad.

Maybe they should replace it with a WBAFC shop, our only West Midlands Premier league representation.

Ray, merely in the interests of fair play, a footie shirt with vertical blue and white stripes would please us Baggies fans. And remember, if what locals say is true, the Birmingham city boundary runs down the centre of the pitch at the Hawthorns -- so it could be said we are legitimately the third Birmingham club. And, i forgot, the only one in the Premiership....

I'm sure most people will remember that Virgin Atlantic advert from a few years ago.......

...I came across this parody for Best Western Hotels. Maybe it's just my sense of humour but I found it quite funny :)

Just learnt that the Champions League final is in Cardiff. Bet the airport and enthusiasts are looking forward to
Leicester v Arsenal final.

Arsenal playing their usual trick against Bayern Munich at the moment. They now have a lot to do to get beyond this round...........but they never do.

Obviously it's only a prediction but lets hope that it's accurate.

BIRMINGHAM IS SET TO DEFY THE ODDS, SAYS JLL

http://www.bqlive.co.uk/property/2017/02/01/news/birmingham-is-set-to-defy-the-odds-says-jll-8597/

He said: "The city is looking very attractive with investment yields well ahead of most comparable cities within Europe including Barcelona, Cologne and Milan and growth in residential sales values are set to outperform London and the national average."

Ian Cornock, JLL's lead director in the Midlands reiterated this point, saying Birmingham was now being heard by government and had become very visible on the world stage.

"We've invested in our city's infrastructure and amenities and as a result have seen a lot of overseas attention which we expect to continue in 2017, particularly from the Chinese.

The article suggests it will be 'Birmingham's tallest residential tower'. I'm assuming that they mean purely residential as I don't believe this will be as tall as the Holloway Circus building, which of course houses a hotel?
.
I guess that the current tallest residential buildings are also at Holloway Circus. These are pretty tall but not pretty.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
