In work tonight and have to say I did a double take when I saw the departure board.
I believe it is just a system check/test going on and nothing more.
Things like this have happened before.Anyone remember the Singapore flight on the dep. board some years ago.Same thing going on.

I clicked on the Twitter tab to get flight info and I got an automated response saying check in open now.

Hi there Ray and all, even though Monarch Airlines has now ceased operating altogether, is it now too late for some one of individuals to resurrect Monarch Airlines again under a partially different name at all... Andyc

When you google monarch or put their old web address in it re-directs you to “loveholidays.com” i dont know if this is who used to do the package holidays for monarch flights or if they are a new startup

Hi there Ian Farquharson, so why no, surely, can't it be brought back under a new name at all like Monarch Express Airlines at all... Andyc

I think using the name Monarch maybe bad news as everybody in the world knows they went bust
and you have to have trust before you can move on and that is just not there.

Andrew
Monarch was a very well run company for years and privately owned by a Swiss family but they wanted out so it was bought by Greybull who pumped more money in but eventually closed it down due to on-going and increasing losses.
Such a shame to see a great name like Monarch disappear but business in business and take a look at Jet 2 who have moved in to BHX and cleaned up and now our biggest airline !
The World has moved on without Monarch and capacity has been redistributed.

Even if the Monarch brand was resurrected I really don't think that it would ever be the same as the original.

As sad as it may be, sometimes you just have to let go and embrace the future.

As Ian has said, Jet2 are doing great things and for several people I know they have fast become their airline/holiday company of choice. If local travellers support them like they did Monarch, I am sure they will continue to thrive (y)

Yes sad to say unfortunately Monarch are the past we usually used them for our regular trips to Gran Canaria I really want to try Jet2 but when when looking for our next couple of trips Ryanair worked out about £150 cheaper flight only for the two of us as well as giving us 10/11 day options which is our ideal choice.
Hopefully next year we can try Jet2 as they have increased to 3 flights a week don't mind a small premium but Jet are more oriented to packages which we don't really require

Dont forget Primera Air are starting LPA rollo. :cautious:

The difference between jet 2 and Ryanair is when things go wrong !

Completely agree trouble is we were booked with Monarch for this April so now its MOL 4 weeks today £80 cheaper as it happens but would still prefer the yellow bird.

Yes but they are weekly which really doesnt suit us and to be honest I'm not too sure about them but definitely wish them well and look forward to trying them at some point (New York ) If I can convince the wife, she likes boats.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
