I would put too much emphasis on social media, they have clauses which dictate what they can and can't say.
When KLM served LPL last, someone asked if flights were being pulled.
The reply from Facebook was 'no, absolutely not'. 12 hours later, yes, just 12 hours later, the official announcement came that LPL-AMS was being pulled.
I'm not saying Monarch are done, I'm just saying that a statement on social media means very, very little in these circumstances.
You are comparing apples and pears there user. The opposite applies I'm afraid.
Pulling a route is one thing. The carrier can still fulfill their contract to transport customer from point A to B in a meaningful way by transporting them to another airport they serve nearby or offering a refund!
If bankruptcy is applied for (which would have to be the case for the CAA to be involved) the contract can not be fulfilled. they are bound by law not to deceive or deny. It is their right not to comment but that's about it!
