Too much competition from easyJet I bet.

Poor service from Swissport more like. If you've ever flown with Jet2 at a fully self handled station they don't need competition from other carriers. They excel themselves. I flow into Leeds a couple of times. Baggage already spinning around the carousel as we came from immigration.

Lucky you, it took a while for my bag too turn up. Oh and at BRS Easyjet are handled by DHL in a dedicated operation.

Which base? Time of year and arrival?
LBA in rush hour is chaos but that’s an LBA problem with all airlines who fight over 2 baggage belts not an airline problem.

MAN - cleared and out 35 minutes after arrival.

Funny how any delays is due to LBA and not Jet2.

You get what you pay for. Jet2 Passenger handling seems to have more than enough customer service/check-in staff when self handled. If they paid ground handlers for a certain amount of baggage/loading staff then the ground handler is obliged to provide those levels of staffing. Swissport (As with most ground handlers) will staff to the levels required (and paid for) by the Airlines, which is usually the cheapest, most cost effective rate. When things go wrong, like delays, the ground handler then has to manage that based on other work that's required. I wonder if the same thing can be said for Jet2 self handling when disruption handling happens.
That's why you rarely see airlines self handle unless it's a fairly big operation.

Winter 2024/25 on sale this morning - few increases primarily to the canaries. Ski flights also on sale , Geneva on sale , Salzburg not

Jet2 doesn’t seem to have cracked the lucrative ski market from Bristol do they ? Salzburg gone leaving just Chambery , Geneva and Innsbruck. No mere coincidence that Easyjet has added a 7th flight on Sundays this winter and a second Sunday flight to Innsbruck too.

How is an LCC though able to dominate what personally I'd have thought is primarily a package holiday market like that?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
