CAA stats July 2018

The CAA now seems to be back on track with NQY's stats. July saw 59,138 passengers, down 4.3% on July 2017. Atms were down 9.3%. Rolling 12-month total was 461,662, up 8.3% on a year ago.

After the stellar growth of recent years 2018 is taking something of a breather. It's to be hoped that 2019 sees some more routes/increased frequencies on existing ones/ and perhaps a new airline or two.

Fingers crossed! They have worked hard in the last couple of years.
Really feel now though it needs a new owner to move it on... council needs to concentrate on other things and let a private company in to run the airport... just my opinion

I agree. Usually I don't like to see airports in public ownership. There can be exceptions. CWL might be really struggling now had not the Welsh Government bought it but they are a government with far more financial resources than a county council.

Had BRS not been sold into the private sector (reluctantly in the eyes of some Labour councillors) it would have stagnated because councils of the size of Bristol and Cornwall just don't have the ability to borrow the sort of money needed for major infrastructure and other developments. BRS would never have got its new terminal that opened in 2000 had the airport remained entirely in city council ownership.

I think public ownership does have its benefits but i wonder if for NQY future a public private partnership is the way forward. It could be for many of the smaller airports in the UK.

Published today, show that 59,042 passengers used the terminal in the month, down 5.1% on August 2017. Atms were down 8%. Rolling 12-month total was 458,508, up 4% on a year ago.

CAA Stats for September 2018

Published today, show that 45,908 passengers used the terminal in the month, down 8.4% on September 2017. Atms were down 11%. Rolling 12-month total was 454,310, up 1% on a year ago.

36,055 passengers used the airport down 10.1% on October 2017. The rolling year was 450,262 down 1.2% on last year.

They weren't there. Looks like they didn't operate in October.

CAA Stats for November 2018

Published today, show that 25,936 passengers used the terminal in the month, up 20.2% on November 2017. Atms were up 0.5%. Rolling 12-month total was 454,615, down just 0.4% on a year ago.

So it looks as though the winter might be performing better percentage-wise than the summer. A 20% rise in passenger numbers with a miniscule 0.5% rise in movemenst suggests either bigger aircraft on some routes or higher loads than in November 2017.

Alicante at nearly 3,000 in November 2018 against nothing in November 2017 would have added about 13% of the 20% rise which is a fair chunk.

Published today, show that 26,141 passengers used the terminal in the month, up 7.8% on December 2017. Atms were down 0.8%. Rolling 12-month total which is also the total for the calendar year of 2018 was 456,511, down just 0.7% on 2017.

The CAA published some stats today. NQY handled 23,416 passengers in the month, up 15.7% on January 2018. The rolling 12-month total is not currently shown. An excellent start to the calendar year.

Where NQY is situated in Cornwall they sure doing well with pax figures each month.It would be nice if we could have a part of the runway that's not being used for a longer length at BRS.

Full details now on CAA website show that atms were up 1.9% and the rolling 12-month passenger total was 459,696 down 0.7% on a year ago.

CAA Stats February 2019

24,307 passengers handled during the month, up 18.6% on February 2018. Atms were down 3.1%. Rolling 12-month total was 463,454, down 0.3% on a year ago.

Given the large passenger number increase coupled with a small redution in flights, the loads must have been much higher.
