All GDS systems and booking platforms, as well as many press statements indicate Oman Air will be using T3 at MAN.

I hope that's an error!

Oh it was showing T3 earlier. Tis confusion squire! (Impractical jokers reference there).

Oman Air will use the A330-300 on Fridays instead of -200. The -200 will still operate the other 6 days.

On using the A330-300, the first class cabin is also available to book.

Great news - one would hope first class could be extended to say three days a week?

DO we think this bus down to advance bookings or aircraft utilisation and juggling in planning ?

Great news either way.

Yes, use of the A333 will be due to aircraft availability.

Selling the F cabin as F is positive. If they didn't think it was worthwhile, they could just as well have sold it as J or not at all. An encouraging sign and, as has been noted elsewhere, the decline of Istanbul as a transit point and Shaeen's issues means there is opportunity for Oman and others to grab a market position quicker than expected.

Oman Air are now selling First Class as 'semi-flex First' every day, but A330-300 only operating Friday. WY must have a config of A332 with first class. Great if it continues.

Nop they only have four A332s all C20Y196 and just 3 A333 with first F6C20Y204 (The only First configured aircraft in the fleet) . As can be seen not much difference in the middle or down the back really.
The three A333 frames normally operate daily WY102/103 to Heathrow and eastwards to Kuala Lumpur and thats pretty much it . Occasionally go to Manila but they usually use the remaining 3 2 class A333 on the nanny shuttles .

The 788 are also two class and I have yet to see the seating on the 789

It the moment Oman have a somewhat small long haul fleet !

Well I am not sure what they are planning to do, selling first class every day? Are they going to be offering first class service in the first row of Business Class?

Encouraging signs...
"Bookings for Oman Air's new daily flight from Manchester to Muscat have exceeded expectations, according to UK country manager Simon Cook.

The flight will launch on May 1 and will be the only direct service to Muscat from the UK outside of London.

"Looking at early data, it is looking good," said Cook. "May and June are difficult because it's low season, but July and August ae fabulous. Better than I expected."

Certainly very reassuring about July and August but I'm sure Oman won't want too big a drop in loads in the quieter seasons.

But they have commented. Sometimes with new long haul routes, perhaps one should be wary when such comments are not made. For example, there has been quite a lot of publicity about the new SFO flights from Virgin and TCX but I don't recall any indication of what advance bookings are like. A concern? maybe, maybe not.
But it is encouraging if airlines say bookings are at least up to expectations if not higher.

Just looking at a post on social media, many people are saying they have booked Oman Air for destinations such as Goa, Delhi and Kathmandu.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
