All depends on how many spare seats there are between MAN/LHR/LGW. If two flights can be consolidated into one then there is a possibility. Bearing in mind that some of the flights have already been despatched.

It could be that instead of coaches there will be a frantic rush for hotel rooms instead! I wonder if they might slip an extra flight in to cover todays PAX with the normal flight operating tomorrow? If that is the plan no one is telling! (My contacts don't get involved with self loading cargo so cannot offer any information).

I saw an anticipated departure time of 1600 hrs (about an hour ago) on the BHX website. I haven't checked it recently. I don't know if they are loading her as yet (Hangar 2 is in the way!!!). We shall wait and see.

FR24 showed 15:15PM Departure not long ago but I highly doubt it

Still showing 15:15PM on FR24 but the flight has a star next to it. Birmingham Mail had a live blog and apparently Passengers didn't disembark until 15:13PM let me see If I can link it

OK Passengers were onboard for 30 minutes here is the link

At this point I think it may be important to say that the aircraft will have been assessed by professionals and found to be perfectly safe enough to operate the return flight to Dubai. If there were any safety concerns whatsoever I am confident that the aircraft would not have departed.

Departure postponed to 2:36. Doubt this will depart in time.. potentially they send 2 A380s tomorrow or just bus to the LHR/MAN morning flights ?

Maybe it was as simple as one of the 16 brake units had a leak and the subsequent brake unit was deactivated for departure IAW the MEL, disconnecting the quick release brake hose to the brake and telling the CPIOM's the brake is deactivated.

Thanks ever so much for the insight :)

The statement below from the airport does seem to confirm that it was indeed an issue with the brakes.

Birmingham Airport said: "There was a problem with the brakes on the A380. It looks dramatic but passengers on board were safe at all times albeit inconvenienced. It's now moved."

the delayed EK40 has just touched down in Dubai only 1hr 46mins late, and taxed to stand D6, all it all, not to bad when you consider the aircraft spent an hour on the taxiway at BHX, and then was towed to the remote stand and passengers inbound & outbound were loaded without the air bridge, aircraft issues sorted, & with a push back time of 16:54, I would say a good job by Emirates & BHX (y)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
