• Hoping to get a picture but won't be able to post it till later. Looking forward to seeing others though
It's now expected at 16:30. Still subject to change though.

She's approaching the Lincolnshire coastline accompanying an Airbus A330 Amsterdam to Montreal and interestingly an Airbus Beluga presumably going to Broughton. Should be at BHX in good time. Enjoy her land those of you who are lucky enough to be waiting. She should be sparkly new.

Lots of people over Sheldon Country Park.

It taxied to the very end of the runway then held on the new taxiway, anybody at the viewing area would have had a great view.

Lots of planes in the hold with several queueing whilst the runway was inspected. Looks to be a very thorough test, I just hope it's successful as many flights are sold out with little chance of accommodating the overspill:)

Pics to follow.

Here she is.

Apologies for the grainy quality, the light conditions were not good at all.

Impressive looking machine for its sheer size but quite an ugly aircraft IMHO.
Better go and put my tin helmet on!

I'm with you on that one. Mightily impressive but blooming ugly.

That said I thought the 787 was ugly at first but it's grown on me over time, maybe this will.

Great pics Ray, hopefully we get some sunshine on sunday afternoon for some even better pics of the blooming ugly A380. But i agree, she is also mighty impressive.

BBC midlands today were at the airport this evening and they interviewed Mr Kehoe.

Looking forward to visiting the airport on sunday ;-)

I quite liked the 787 from the off so I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. Wouldn't have ever said the 747 was attractive but what it had going for it was again it's sheer size and the fact the world had not seen anything like it previously, now large wide bodied jets are commonplace.

I always liked the body of the 787 I just thought the front was rather ugly. It's definitely grown on me though.

The airport have just confirmed that it's still down to depart at 18:00 tomorrow if anyone wants take off pictures.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
