Wales have a decent manager and on the whole fairly average players but have got a great team spirit and aren't delusioned prima donnas unlike the England lot.

Think Barry would struggle a bit with the size of the squad. You can only have 23 for internationals

It looks as though Southgate is favourite in the betting at present even though he said he didn't want the job a few months ago. Steve Bruce - readily available - is in the bookies' frame as is Pardew and even Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. Klinsmann tops the list of overseas possibles.

Might be a good idea for England to withdraw from this World Cup. Won't happen though.

England is a perennial mess both on and off the field.

He was head coach at Bristol Academy (now Bristol City Women - funny how some teams style themselves Ladies and others Women: perhaps the latter get stuck in more) for several years before getting the England job.
