There were 3 Easyjet, a flybe and something else. Also had 1 Easyjet out of LPL return and 2 emergency landings at MAN/LPL.

All in all, a bit busy for the Emergency services.

Thanks for the info User001. All in all not a great day for flying generally with the tail of hurricane Ophilia.

Forgot to add there was also a Jet2 B733 divert from LBA thrown into the mix too!

I note that an easyjet JER-LPL diverted to either LBA or Doncaster. Is that an issue with a certain handling agent, as MAN are evidently accepting diversions?

Unlikely to be a handling agent issue as an Easyjet diverted in. May have been that gusts at that exact time were as bad at MAN as LPL so took a safer bet.

Ah, missed the easyjet from Paris. Some gusts here at 30kts but less than LPL and not the same cross-wind here of course.

MAN has had a few diverts in the past few hours.

An A400 diverted in from BZZ last night

A sunwing B737 diverted in from LBA last night too.

BA diverted the Leeds shuttle a few minutes ago.

Ryanair DUB-LBA asking for MAN too.

Lost a few flybe flights this morning after some inept weather forecasting again. The TAF at 17.00 yesterday wasn't predicting fog at all. The metar at 08.50 bst showed an improvement to 250m with an RVR of 600m and becoming 6km. Cue, RVR drops to below 300m and it's still very marginal an hour later.

Some flights could have sat on the ground at their origin had the predicted wx been more accurate, although I suppose you could argue the pax may prefer to be diverted to LPL than possibly having a flight cancelled altogether.

MAN was the only major UK airport affected as far as I know. But whatever the difficulty of forecasting fog accurately, the met office or whoever provides the service for MAN these days ought to do better.

A quick question. Having been on a rare visit to the airport this morning I was surprised to see an AA 757 and an LX CS100 (? type) both parked on the 60s. Where they both tech does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

It is always good to see LH continue to use MAN as their primary UK diversion field.

This flight was well north of the Scottish mainland when it started to divert and so overflew a number of other possible alternatives.

I don't know for certain but I presume this was a medical diversion as the flight has already departed for Vancouver.

It was an unruly pax originally, but later found out he was also having a medical episode, so taken to hospital.

PH-AOC A332 KL676 YEG-AMS just parking up. No idea why. Turned direct here just over Newcastle.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
