Flybe has also been ruled out :)

Still two weeks until the end of the month. I don't think I can stand the wait. With the number of posts in this thread over the last few days we will soon overtake LBA on post numbers!

I wonder how many posts we'll see when this eventually comes out.

I might start a 'guess the post count' thread :playful:

I think these are all the ones mentioned so far and ruled out;

Virgin
Delta
Thomas Cook
Norwegian
British Airways
Level
Jet2
Monarch
TUI
WOW
WestJet
Air Canada Rouge
Biman
Jet Airways
Anything else that might transit through
LOT?
Africada!

Are Hellenic Imperial still flying those 747-200s?
Haven't transit flights been ruled out too?
SAS replicating Norwegian?

Aer Lingus. Have (limited) history of operating UK-USA when they operated EI112/111 out of MAN in winter 1994 but can't remember if it went MAN-SNN-New York or SNN-MAN-New York

Even this MAN supporter is curious.

I've looked back over 5 pages of this thread (although it probably goes back much further) and have 2 questions:

Has it been established that it is a new airline for BHX as some are assuming?

Brumx in a post a few pages back posted "it isn't Jet2" Was this because some one else in the know had confirmed it wasn't, only Jet2 wasn't in User001's long list of who it isn't?

And I see David has mentioned Aer Lingus which was an earlier left field suggestion. Strange as it would seem to conflict with the IAG policy of developing DUB but it's an interesting idea.

I think Ian said the airline is question doesn't operate out of MAN so that rules out Aer Lingus - if that is indeed correct?

Another thing to ponder - narrow/wide body?

Realistically we'd be very lucky to get Emirates connecting through to one North American destination so what are the chances of them doing three?

Some random ones here. Air Europa? Alitalia? Icelandair? OpenSkies? Qantas? Virgin America/Alaska Airlines? JetBlue?

Twas I that mentioned Aer Lingus and I was thinking of North American routes so perhaps one of those in the know can add them to the list of who it isn't?

Anyway my head still hurts over this.

Looking forward to the reaction on here :)
What do you think the reaction will be Ray? Delight and surprise at seeing a new major airline operating?
Surprise that a current operator has gone down that route?
A muted response of "that's interesting let's see if they can make it work?".
One thing seems to be emerging and that is daily flights to any N.American destination are not likely.
That would be a shame and even if 3 low frequency routes are announced i'm not sure that is progress.

I really do not know what the reaction will be.

I think I'm expecting a bit of a mixed bag so we'll see.

Who said daily flights are not likely? ;)
Can i ask this. Is this new airline an operator who does TATL already or will they be new to the TATL market?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
