Hi there ray and all, I think regarding birmingham airports growth of passengers from airlines that use birmingham, we may have covered this before previously, but with birminghams situation in attracting new business to the airport, it all depends on Purley what has been negotiated and agreed with kehoe and his team and maybe a slight concession given to the airline for a short period of time. You see birmingham has to offer the airlines something else that other airports are not. Again with the situation with easyJet, still idea, of why no base yet, or new routes that are still unserved... AndyC

Does anybidy know if the report is out for movements and pax capacity for S18 re Birmingham?

nope, the ACL report will only be published around march/april time just before the season starts!

There is a pre season ACL circulating now, but only those on the mailing list for BHX will be in receipt of it, until the full summer season report is made public in March.

Word on the other forum is Jet2 will announce at least two more routes from each base in 2018 - and it seems Gibraltar might be on their radar as a new destination...
Gibraltar and Seville might be good options for. Both could be marketed as week long packages and shorter city break style holidays I'd have thought.

Gibraltar would be nice.

Skiathos, Santorini, Mykonos, Preveza/Lefkas, Porto Santo, Cape Verde, Sardinia, Sicily, Jerez, La Palma, Montenegro (it's offered at the moment via Dubrovnik but Tivat or Podgorica would be closer), Bourgas, Varna?

Possible city break destinations, Seville, Porto, Valencia, Lisbon?

I'm not sure North Africa is on the cards just yet?

If Jet2 do go into GIB I could see the Boeing 737-300 been used for most if not all flights due to the know problems with the B737-800's and B757-200. For MAN, BHX, GLA & STN it would mean them operating w-legs by LBA, EMA, NCL, EMA & BFS based crewed aircraft.

The other thing to remember is that some, not all the new fleet of Boeing 737-8MG's have the "Short field performance package" installed.

The new 738's are apparently fitted with a "short field" package so maybe they can get in.

Nope not all of them have the SFPP installed, as it was going to be too expensive and not needed. If remember correctly and that's unless things have changed, I think originally it was due to be just 1/3rd of the brand new aircraft to have the SFPP installed.

"Under the current arrangement, agreed in October 2016, a maximum of 100 passenger flights per week can operate between the UK and China, with this figure set to increase to 150 under the terms of the new deal."

Focus on the region's. Hopefully more than just MAN. I suspect Scotland may be next although do they have a long enough runway?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
