Morton Air Services using DH Doves and Herons used to be regular visitors to Elmdon way back.

I think the clue is in 'long lost' which surely rules out any return of recent pull outs, American or Icelandair for example.

My money is on Silver City Airways always loved seeing their HP Hermes....

don't think the word 'long lost' has been used!

Cobalt restarting Larnaca must be a possibility with Monarchs demise, maybe the other carrier is Loganair or Eastern returning with domestic services?

Some of these suggestions are dafter than mine, and that's saying something!!!

After a few disappointments towards the back end of 2017 I think it's time to talk about what we have to look forward to this year :)

So far we have 33 new or returning routes (including the Bangkok and Langkawi cruise flights), one brand new airline in Primera, one returning airline in VLM and 7 routes that didn't operate in 2017 namely, Boston, Podgorica, Thessaloniki, Pisa, Varna, Bangkok and Langkawi.

We're still getting announcements for S18 so hopefully there will be even more to add in the coming weeks. There are also some interesting developments that may or may not happen for W18/19 but I'm sure we'll hear more about them closer to the time :)

Thanks Ray. The bad news at the tail end of 2017 was almost inevitable and given the Monarch collapse, very depressing. We have had something of a clear out of unprofitable routes. But we have been here before - boom followed by a bust. But if a bust is defined by 33 new routes a new airline and 7 new or returning routes then the darker days when we used to lose and not bounce back are well and truly over.

Lest not forget that it is only the 9th day of the year and there is guaranteed to be more happy annoncements for this year and next.

But what routes would they do that won't put them in contest with Flybe?
Hi Jerry
I'm just refering back to the BHX Loganair thread started last July, by Ian Farquharson -

http://www.forums4airports.com/threads/4280/

Where he states -

Loganair are looking at starting BHX- Scotland from W17/18, going head to head with FlyBe

PK

Whether or not this is still in the pipeline, I have no idea (I assume 'PK' is refering to the former CEO Paul Kehoe).

Regards

Kevin

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
