There are big rumours about Vistara coming to Birmingham too.

As Kevin highlighted they are being merged with Air India and currently only have 3 B787s in their fleet which are fully utilised serving London, Frankfurt and Paris. They only fly long haul from Delhi, so I can't see them launching in addition to Air India or even replacing Air India, and I'd be very surprised if their first long haul flight from somewhere in India that isn't Delhi would be to Birmingham.

As others have mentioned, it's likely just Qatar returning or Hans officially launching flights.

My different guess would be a Saudi Arabian airline. The Saudi government are trying to switch the countries economy from oil to tourism and are targeting 100 million visitors a year by 2030. The government are also setting up a new airline, RIA, aimed at competing with the ME3 in setting up a new hub at Riyadh. So my guess would be the new RIA, Saudia, or one of the Saudi LCCs.

We already know about Qatar and Hans Airways. This sounds like a completely new carrier for BHX.
Do we know whether they are Asian, Middle Eastern or North American?.

The big problem with Saudi Arabian airlines, is that they are 'dry'. If I'm going to take a flight of several hours, then I want a nice glass of red wine (or two) with my meal.
That's because of Saudi Arabias strict laws and etc. If Saudi Arabians airlines do come it would be great again for people to connect onwards to East asia

Nick Barton said we could get back to pre pandemic levels in 2023 which wont be easy with 2022 landing around 9.5m, so a 35% increase would be needed in 2023 !!

I think we're likely to see our first "month" get back to pre pandemic levels next year, maybe even several months over the summer period.

Whether we'll get the entire 12 months back to 2019 levels we'll have to wait and see. Take out the number of Flybe and Thomas Cook passengers from 2019 levels and I think we'll probably hit that next year, which suggests we'll have recovered from the pandemic, but not yet the loss of Flybe & Thomas Cook.

Whatever passenger levels we see next year, I think BHX is in a fairly good position. We have new airlines expanding, old airlines coming back and long established airlines expanding.

You gotta remember .Qatar ,Turkish,Emirates and air India plus PIA are all long haul.I think it will an American airline company from jfk.If u listened to Toms screens interview about routes from bhx earlier in the year he mentions they’re negotiating with an American airline. They also we’re planning to bring an Icelandic airline which will be play.

Qatar is returning along with Emirates bringing back the A380s. Turkmenistan I've heard they were coming but that seem to have died down.

So we know that Qatar and emirates are usual suspects to the airport.Plus you’ve got tui who long haul aswell plus.
Long haul routes at the moment.
Delhi

Amritsar
Espargos
Boa Vista
Cancun
Bridgetown

Can you elaborate on that? I’m not understanding what you mean by Wizz are doing poor from certain airports. Do you mean adding new routes? Load factors?

Yeah so what I meant is that we only do routes from Birmingham.
Bucharest
Gdnask
Warsaw
Cluj napoca
Budapest
Wroclaw
Craiova
Krakow

All them routes from 3 countries Poland ,Hungary and Romania,

Why can’t we expand more further Northern Europe like Germany and latvia
Or Estonia or Cyprus

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
