Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
If you look at the organised activities you get sold in Birmingham on the likes or Expedia, Get Your Guide or Viator you can why it's difficult to promote stuff outside London on blogs etc as there are very few local experiences being sold there.

For example I can buy a trip to Bicester Village, the Cotswolds or London when we have our own home grown attractions that aren't listed.

It would be good to see trips being sold to the likes of the Black Country Museum, McArthur Glen and Shugborough.

I can get a trip to Stratford upon Avon but I can't find the Shakespeare Express on there which I think American tourists would love.

Rather have a US airline, as that means Americans coming over here driving demand than British going over there. City needs the presence that Edinburgh / Scotland certainly does at the moment!

Come on Tom and Tom, drum up some business please.
On that basis alone, it makes sense for a UK based airline. Birmingham is never going to be a destination for inbound tourism, and business travel generally is lower since covid. a USA Route that focuses on outbound traffic would likely be much more successful and viable ion my opinion.

Having a US carrier flying at times that suit US tourists for a city that US tourist have little interest in visiting...?
I don’t think the choices of either a US or UK carrier are necessarily opposed to each other. It depends on multiple factors, like which destinations are chosen and whether there’s a codeshare agreement in place.

It might be difficult for us to sustain an airline like JetBlue which doesn’t codeshare much, if at all, and is also very little known in the UK. But on the other hand I think the Virgin / Delta partnership has a realistic chance of making more UK regional flights work if LHR remains full. Some routes are of course going to be largely skewed towards either US or UK travellers, but it helps to have the same flights bookable on both a UK and a US airline’s websites. They also have a wider range of aircraft and onboard products to meet different levels of demand.

A quick search on google flights shows that from MAN and EDI the departure times for the American carriers and the uk carriers don’t differ that much, they both tend to have their departures from the UK between mid-morning and lunchtime and departures from the USA in the early evening. This is despite MAN being mostly served by UK / Irish carriers and EDI being mostly served by US carriers.

Unfortunately Rzeszow and Wroclaw will likely not happen this winter with Ryanair, me and few friends from Ryanair and Easyjet went on holiday and we were talking about the new routes and the reason given was additional A/C coming for summer 25 so they trying to keep hours down.

So not much happening except those routes?

Interesting thanks, is this Easyjet or Ryanair extra based unit(s) s25 or both ? Cheers ,

Nice many thanks, BHX certainly looking to add numbers and claw back lost share i guess. Think Tui has been set up for 12 based s25 for a while.
Definitely looking that way. Eighth based unit for Ryanair is confirmed but there talks of a ninth unit being added, Easyjet an fourth unit, its current operations here is equivalent to 7 a/c my worry is space for stands for all the extra units planned

My word ok interesting. I did anticipate Easyjet going to 5 based, however perhaps they prefer a larger away based operation at bhx ......

Can’t see Funchal for Ryanair as its captain only landing but the floating pilots are all trained for it so could be possible. I’ll say probably polish and maybe extra frequencies to PFO,CHQ etc

EasyJet probably more likely beach destinations but I can see where you coming from.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
