Egypt Air is great and I think Royal Air Maroc will be next and at some point Royal Jordanian but Heathrow / London is completly different market so you cannot compare. Better off monitoring Manchester and hope in time Birmingham will get a few more of the airlines they have.

No idea, Jordanian mentioned 2027 in their future plans, route development take years in the planning but I would hope RAM next year too.

Anyone who does have information of this sort, knows that it has to be kept quiet until announced by the relevant parties. It is an absolute waste of time asking questions which people cannot answer ( if they like their jobs that is). The only advice I can offer is wait and see what happens and when.

Also a response to a previous reply, yes we do fly to Athens, not year round only seasonal, there is a big difference, if you wanted to fly anytime to Athens, from Birmingham Airport, you can only fly seasonal, but if it's not seasonal you need, then you have to pay extra for your fly and accommodation near Heathrow, before you even take off for Athens. By only having seasonal available, reduces demand for passengers, yes I know that airlines cost routes reliability and don't like losses.

So now we have got Egypt air for 2026 new airline and a direct route to Cairo.Nothing on the system for a 4th weekly though the airport and airline did confirm

So what other airlines could be a possibility

AJET airlines-Antalya,Dalaman or Bodrum?
Flyone-Chisnau?
Norwegian-Direct flights to Norway year round
Transavia-Competition vs EasyJet and klm?
Royal air Maroc-Casablanca-Connections to Agadir,Marrakesh and other parts of Morocco
Delta airlines-New York the obvious one

By 2027-2028 it be nice to get some new connectivity and a few new airlines

I just switch from Manchester to Cairo to Birmingham to Cairo. Egyptair is frequently delayed from Manchester I have read elsewhere . Anything between 1 and 3 hours. As its an evening arrival in Cairo, I dont want to be getting in much later than planned .

Well we don't know. I can get to Birmingham Airport very easily, so its worth it, if it makes a difference
