Nick Barton said on WM that BHX is not at capacity yet so lets hope we see a few annoucements soon.

A few weeks ago I read the minutes of one of the consultative committee meetings and it said that stand capacity is getting close to full (although not there yet), so hopefully there is a plan to pour some concrete sooner rather than later.

The idea is that United could have easily added MAN.BHXBFS using A321XLRs or MAX8s but apparently they don't like the idea that planes can be filled of British citizens rather than US citizens. They are treating secondary Germany cities in exactly the same manner,

Delta don't operate narrowbodies over the Atlantic so they would flying a 763. Needs them to reverse that policy and grab A321LR/XLR whilst launching routes with the depreciated 757s

Then you have risk averse AA who I can't actually see operating secondary routes with A321XLRs after cutting back their order even if they route dropped ORD-MAN

And finally Jetblue who don't appear to be in the best of financial health and seeming prefer to be the 3rd or 4th in a market rather then grab a market for themselves

Nothing to do with "not liking" the UK or indeed Germany.

They're a business, they will use their aircraft where they can make most money. In recent years the balance of Transatlantic travel has shifted massively in favour of US citizens visiting Europe rather than European's heading West. Economics... $ vs £/€.... even the occupant of the White House..... plenty of reasons for it. Young Americans seem to want to travel far more than generations before them, plenty of Med hotspots and European cities have noticeably more US visitors right now, and IBZ is very fashionable.

When there's more money to be made in UK or German regional markets then the aircraft will go there.

Hi there all, unfortunately, the UK is not currently seen as a demanding or a demand able country, because since COVID, brexit and the current cost of living situation, the UK is not seen as an attractive investor at all. But if under the current government, if Prime Minister Burnham were to hold a second referendum, then I think you will find a completely different result, maybe not a landslide victory, but at least a reasonable result that would show the true feelings of people in this country at present and how people currently feel. They may feel that a reset button maybe the right direction to go.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
