Looks like we are getting a 2nd Lourdes Pilgrimage flight on behalf of "The Diocese of Hallam". This charter has in previous years operated from Doncaster-Sheffield but looks to be moving up to Leeds/Bradford for 2023. There tour is been organised by Joe Walsh Tours whom normally use Albastar Airways Boeing 737 aircraft for its charter flights.

Departs = Friday, June 30th
Returns = Thursday, July 6th

As previously posted this years annual "Leeds Diocese" pilgrimage is been operated by Tagney Tours and the charter flights will be operated by Titan Airways, Airbus aircraft

Departs = Friday, July 7th
Returns = Thursday, July 13th

Quite mad, really. The Albastar operating for JWT arrives from LDE at LBA and presumably positions out empty on 6 July, and then the Titan aircraft positions in to LBA empty to fly from LBA to LDE on the following day. You suspect Greta would have a thing or two to say about it ....

Makes me wonder why they don't pool their resources and charter a single, larger aircraft for both groups. I'm sure it would be cheaper.

In the past we've had a Corsair 747 doing this charter, and that was just for the Leeds diocese. And a TriStar.
Does seem odd but it's probably down to hotel availability at Lourdes and the fact the bookings were made when DSA existed. Now DSA is closed, they might combine Leeds and Sheffield in future years, with a bigger terminal, on a bigger aircraft, assuming of course that LBA is equipped to handle it on the apron.

I remember the 747. Took ages to get pax on board as many were disabled. No doubt disembarking on their return was much faster as they would all have been cured!

Lourdes is a fascinating airport with multiple retired aircraft, including A380's waiting to be scrapped so worth the trip just for that.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
