Buddy Guy - Damn Right, I've Got The Blues

I may have told this story before, but when I was working at Aston University (must be 30 years ago), a colleague and I went to see him at Birmingham town hall. He was sensationally good! So, 12 months later when he was touring again we persuaded a large group of colleagues to come along. He was atrocious! Not that he couldn't play, he just didn't seem interested. He kept putting his guitar down, leaving the stage and going to be with some woman in the audience.
I prefer to remember from from the first concert that I saw.

RUSH - New World Man
From the album 'Signals' (the 'Signals' tour was the first time I saw Rush - I've seen them six times since), this song has a reggae rhythm to it. I still find it hard to believe that a band of just three musicians can create such a powerful and complex sound.

Note - I tried to link the live version, but it was blocked.

That's a great song, I've not heard it in quite a while.

A little something from the 90's. Now expecting an appearance from @thunderchild 🙂

Shaggy - Oh Carolina
Likewise, I've not heard that in years. I remember around then, the research group that I worked for moved from Aston to Nottingham University and for a few weeks, until I got accommodation sorted out, I was driving from Bloxwich (north of Walsall) to Nottingham and back every day. In fact, on the way back , I was driving past Bloxwich and on to New Cross Hospital (near Wolverhampton), as my Grandad was seriously ill with cancer. Whilst driving, I usually had the radio on and 'Oh Carolina' seemed to be played quite frequently.

Peter Gabriel with Paula Cole - Don't Give Up (Live, form The Secret Garden concert)

Changing tack slightly, Paula Cole (as well as being stunningly beautiful), has the voice of an Angel. I believe that the original studio version (released on the album 'So'), was recorded with Kate Bush.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
