It appears that Ryanair are in discussions with various operators about them providing feed onto their long haul services. One of the companies they are talking to are Norwegian about connections at LGW.

I know there are a hell of alot of if's, but's and maybe's at the moment but if we do get some long haul from Norwegian out of BHX I wonder if something similar could be done here on a smaller scale? Potential feed from Ryanair, possibly Flybe and Norwegians own Euro services could provide a nice little boost should we be lucky enough to get long haul.

Ryanair in talks on first transfer deals with long-haul carriers

Interesting concept. Lots of hurdles to overcome I'm sure but who, 30 years ago, would have forecast the success and scope of low cost airlines? The industry must embrace continuing change.

The S16 Spanish flights are showing 'sold out' so there could still be more changes to come but looking at the times there are some increases showing. Faro and Dublin are bookable however.

Barcelona goes up to 9x weekly, double daily on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Malaga up to 9x weekly, double daily on Thursdays and Fridays.

Palma goes up to daily.

Alicante is 10x weekly, double daily on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Malta up one to 3x weekly.

Dublin remains 5/6 times daily.

The rest look to be unchanged.

There doesn't look to be any changes for the Polish and Lithuania routes so they don't appear to be too worried about Wizz as yet. Perpignan is showing as 'no flights' throughout but I believe it has gone on sale late in previous years? It would be a shame to lose yet another destination.

Overall not too bad with all days seeing an increase and some days over the summer seeing 6 extra flights.

Hopefully Norwegian will trump that

it is looking promising but I suppose we'll have to wait for the press realise to know for sure. I believe the current timetable suggests 4 based aircraft are needed, especially with the increases in capacity but those increases could be at the cost of others...

a case of wait and see, but they have expanded all London airports, so lets hope with the rumours of Norwegian and Wizz, Ryanair are also upping their game...

Its funny that Ryanair seem to hear about expansion at their UK bases, and we can all see where other airlines are planning to expand with extra routes at BHX or MAN.

I know mate, it seems as if they don't like newcomers on their 'patch'.

As said when it comes to BHX I do hope they don't restart the likes of Madrid meaning the yields are slashed to a point where them and Norwegian both give it up. It's taken long enough to get it back as it is.

Definitely back to four based for the whole season :good:

The summer 16 routes are now bookable.

Bratislava is still showing as 'sold out' so hopefully it'll be on sale soon, it's still 3x weekly.

Perpignan looks to have gone as all days are showing 'no flights'. It's not really a surprise as Ryanair seem to have dropped quite a few French destinations across their network. Shame to lose it though.

I believe in June or July it saw over 100% growth compared to last year?

I don't think Flybe still fly there, do they?

Flybe only have Perpignan from Southampton at the moment.

It would be a nice little addition to their seasonal French offering if they're willing to take it up.

Bratislava is still showing as 'sold out'.

Flights from there to LTN and STN are now bookable, BHX and EDI are showing as 'sold out', LPL and EMA are showing 'no flights'. Early days I suppose but hopefully not another route lost :dunno:

well we haven't had the press release from Ryanair yet so until then hopefully things are yet to be finalised!

Hopefully.

The schedule looks to be quite finely balanced at the moment. It's showing four based but with a couple of tweaks here and there it could easily drop back down to three. If it is to remain four based then there is some room for new routes and/or more frequencies.

Possibly a case of waiting for Norwegian to show their hand before they commit?

I've been looking around at some dates for a possible trip to Dublin and Ryanair seem to have added extra flights in March on top of the usual 6x daily.

Monday 15th sees 8 flights.
Tuesday 16th sees 10 flights.
Wednesday 17th sees 8 flights.
Thursday 18th sees 8 flights.
Friday 19th sees 10 flights.

I'm assuming that these are put on for the Cheltenham Festival?

I've also been looking at the Aer Lingus site but they still have the usual 5/6x daily at the moment.

Perpignan is now showing as 'sold out' on Tue and Sat whereas before all week was showing as 'no flights'. Hopefully a good sign

Perpignan is now bookable :good:

Given that BHX has seen a couple of rival locos move in recently I wonder if we'll finally see something new added for next year, or will it just be same old, same old?

My ideal wish list for Ryanair is: Rome-Ciampino, Pisa, Milan Bergamo, Lisbon, Oslo-Rygge, Stockholm, Porto, Eindhoven, Knock, and a re-introduction of Londonderry.

Some routes that would be good for BHX to have are already served from EMA which may lessen our chance of getting them any time soon. Hopefully other airlines are looking into these routes as well.

Great list, I'd also add Valencia.

Looking at the timetable and Alicante is now up to 12x weekly. 1x daily on Sat and Tue with double daily the rest of the week.

No doubt in response to Vueling adding the route, I wonder if Norwegian will join in?

so the question is, now the fully RYR schedule appears to be available, compared to s15, how many more flights are there out of BHX in s16... ive heard they have added extrat flights to DUB, BCN, AGP, ALC and PMA, so if growth has been included on these routes, is this net growth or have other routes/frequencies been chopped???

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
