Hi BHX492...thanks as always for your insight into Ryanair and the heads up you give the group. Could I ask how Chania being on your travel booking system correlates to 8 based aircraft? Just trying to work that outI would guess so because according to the staff travel booking system they plan on resuming Chania

Most routes are on sale between Jun-Oct'24 but most not on sale from Apr-Jun'24 so still lots to change but defo lots to keep an eye on over the next few weeks!
Sadly I’m sure they are Ryanair always do it.Lets hope the 7 new routes dont include BUD, SVQ & VLC which are all new in S24
So with Ryanair routes being rumoured.as per seanM1997 on "X" today:-
Are Ryanair about to retaliate at Birmingham?
Indicative Summer 2024 slot requests suggest an additional based aircraft with 7 new routes - with some competition against recent additions from easyJet and Jet2
Cologne would be a nice addition to the BHX network.
Cologne would be a nice addition to the BHX network.
It won't hurt for yet another airline to give it a go
The problem with Cologne/Bonn and for that matter Dortmund is that both are only 40km from Dusseldorf which is centrally located for them and Essen is even closer.
Logically you would think any airline would choose Dusseldorf which is the biggest conurbation for its operations and is the reason for the Cologne routes failures in the past.
Quite right. But airline economics mean that on thinner routes, airlines can only make money by consolidating demand at larger airports. Airports exist to facilitate the airline business, not v.v.But that's like saying if I wanted to visit Liverpool from Germany, the best option is to fly into Manchester which is the bigger airport and city region. No thanks, Liverpool has its own airport and I want to fly direct into that cities airport.
So C'mon Ryanair, give us Cologne. Dusseldorf, not likey![]()
