Qatar Airways to return to Gatwick from May 22 with double daily flights.

This was hinted at about two years ago by the Qatar UK chief when he mentioned Ireland, the South West and Gatwick as being in their sights. Dublin came last year, Cardiff was announced last year to start this May and now Gatwick.

Funny how CWL has been reduced and BHX is still waiting for it’s 8th weekly to be reinstated yet LGW goes straight in at double daily! 12 new routes announced today, not bad for an airline always short of aircraft!

This link seems to be suggesting that not all the new routes announced today are new routes in the sense that some had previously been announced..

Doha – London Gatwick eff 22MAY18 Service resumption since May 2011, 2 daily Boeing 787-8. Service increases to 16 weekly (QR331/332 2 weekly) from 15JUN18 to 29SEP18

The arrival/departure times vary widely, perhaps due to available slots?
