Almost every single other flight today is heavily delayed, as expected.

13 cancellations yesterday (mainly it seems due to weather resulting in various ATC restrictions if what the airlines are saying is indeed the reason)…

11 EasyJet
1 Swiss (Helvetic)
1 KLM Cityhopper

Another 13 cancellations yesterday (not sure of exact reasons other than maybe ATC restrictions?):

12 EasyJet
1 Loganair

Saying it’s becoming a theme is rather childish. As you are a member of UKBF working at BRS you know the same as I do the two problems are completely unrelated. Last week’s was caused by an alleged drunk driver overtaking a vehicle and hitting an oncoming vehicle head on on the main A38 outside the airport. Today’s is caused by an electrical box catching fire in the pit near the 27 threshold.

It was merely a fact - not a childish point as you have interpreted it (noting that this lighting issue has happened before makes it an even more valid point)

And am fully aware of both these events being completely unrelated because I read the news not because of any relation to my occupation that you seem to have been misled on.

Facts not fiction.

Two non-weather related closures within a week, I bet the Bristol Post will be having a field day, I can almost imagine the headlines, and the comments to go with the articles.
Anyway, an unfortunate couple of events.

In other news, happy to see some new route announcements starting trickle in for S24 - hopefully more to follow. Soon we’ll be have to get an insight into base sizes and weekly flights once schedules are released.

As expected, Storm Darragh is in full force and as a result there’s been no movement at BRS this morning (as of 07:30) with lots of cancellations and some heavy delays likely throughout the day…

Stay safe everyone.

There were reports on line that Jet2 737 800 G-JZBK, suffered a wing strike on Tuesday whilst landing in crosswinds at BRS. Reports stated it went around, landing second time with a fire brigade accompaniment. Photos show the lower blade of the scimitar wingtip was damaged. Other flights diverted to CWL with BRS closed for an hour.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
