I suppose these are the routes that make the money though especially if the focus is on the holiday side of the business.
Maybe, but I don't see the two destinations I mentioned not making money, they are extremely popular destinations . Jet2 obviously did their homework on Funchal before they launched, there was nothing stopping Easyjet offering that route but they did not.

I'd expect Easyjet have looked at it as a case of well if they think they can make money then so can we.

Probably expect that they can make some money. And given #Jet2 can be relatively expensive compared with #EasyJet then … I’d say the customer wins. After all Jet2 are a lone player on this route so can charge what they feel like within reason.

Both can easily make this route work and cohabit. The NW is a large market.

It will be interesting to see if #EasyJet go back to Zante, again a long standing popular route, which they suddenly stopped and started Heraklion. #Jet2 have gone #Zante now and have been seeing between 85 and 99 % LF

With a focus more on the developing the holiday side of their business I suspect eventually they will.

Easyjet have added a 3rd LPL-RAK in December on a Monday .

There are also extras LPL-PRG in Nov and Dec Tues / Thurs

Sounds to me like a defensive move against Jet2/Jet2holidays who let's face it will move in on the Morocco routes - AGA/RAK. I suspect Jet2 will go more for AGA out of LPL first then RAK.

Jet2 are bringing good competition for easyJet which will be very beneficial for the airport and customer. As we all know - Manchester is a nightmare.

Its without doubt that Jet2 has stirred things up, which is something I have argued for for a long time. Easyjet have become more proactive, with talk of an 8th aircraft for next year.

That's exactly what LPL needs. The North West & North Wales catchment area is massive and it's good to take away from MAN tbh.

Having visited LPL I'm impressed at the airport, the flow/options to shop & eat/drink, and how easy it is to arrive back. I just hope this growth isn't determent to this success.

I think the building is ok for a bit, the capacity I believe is 7M, there are some internal improvements due later this year and next. There is also room for more concrete for stands if required. After that and if things continue the powers that be will have to add terminal capacity at some point, but we are ok for a bit I feel.

Any ideas of any announcement of any more routes to be added to the system
There have been a few already recently a second Egypt and the return Derry / Londonderry later this year for example..

Madeira looks likely by Easyjet too.

I meant for like the rest of the uk

I do wonder sometimes how Easyjet pick these routes when they drop routes that have performed well for.a number of years. They flew to Dubrovnik before, then dropped that city which is not a million miles away from Split.
There are Italian and Scandinavian destinations presently unserved which I feel might have been a better destination. But there you go !

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
