Almost 2 years later and again it is the exploits of England in Pakistan that makes you appreciate the belief the side has got. Form or rather results have been a mixed bag but generally the same mantra of positive cricket.
Lost the toss and then field for nearly 2 days. Concede 556 so backs against the wall
On Tuesday England had got to 96 in 20 overs and I saw the 1st hour the following morning, Got to work and mentioned to one of my colleagues that if they only score at 5 runs an over, they would be near 500 at the end of the day given dusk arrives quickly. At the close of play, 496 was on the board and I said to him, keep playing as they are doing tomorrow and it's going to be 200 to 300 more with a sizeable lead. 5o they racked up he 4th highest Test score ever, having reached 823, having faced 1 more over than Pakistan. Then I said they will probably get 3 or 4 wickets now. The reality? On the cusp of victory with only 4 wickets left to take
I would love to hear the motivational speeches that must be done so that they can dismiss facing a large total. My regret is not actually placing a bet or 2 seeing what I was saying was coming true.
