Following a series of recent national awards voted for by its passengers, Doncaster Sheffield Airport recently revealed its new ‘Easy, friendly, relaxed’ brand, to reflect its growing reputation as the UKs favourite airport.

DSA The Doncaster airport was recently named as the best airport in the UK recently by Which? Magazine for the second time in a row. This came hot on the heels of the accolade of the UK’s favourite airport, according to Saga members and the airport’s assistance for passengers with restricted mobility was recognised by the Civil Aviation Authority in their top rating awarded of ‘Very Good’

The airport has also taken the top spot for UK airports in a customer service survey by the airline TUI, for this summer, seeing its best score in the busy August month.

Kate Stow, Director of Marketing & Corporate Affairs, said:The recent collection of awards illustrate that customers are increasingly thinking about the whole journey and travel experience.

Minimal queuing, spacious facilities, your baggage returned quickly and being made to feel at ease you are what customers are looking for at the start or end of their breaks or business trips

DSA has been consistently recognised by customers for its easy movement from car park to aircraft, its friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The new, Easy, friendly, relaxed brand launches today (10th September 2018), capturing the essence of hassle free travel that DSA promises to deliver.”

DSA has seen a record 80% growth in passenger numbers over the last three years to 1.3 million per year and over 55 destinations now served and new long-haul flights announced with TUI to Sandford, Florida, , coupled with two new routes to Hungary and many more in the pipeline. The airport has also seen its number of low cost seats grow to over half of the total available

Director of Commercial and Passenger Experience at DSA, Ian Smith, added:
“Our people strive every day to make sure we deliver the best experience and take genuine pride in doing so. We have developed our terminal, car parking and airport access to make it easy for our customers and along with our World Host training are delivering this regular recognition and ranking as the UKs favourite and friendliest airport.”

No quibbles with their claim on their space and easy movement around the place nor their prompt baggage handling on return. However I would question if this would all be so encouraging sounding if the terminal was handling the numbers annually it was designed for in the first place. I doubt it very much.

So it is all well and good crowing about what customers think anout it when the place is so underused but it would be a different matter if there were more routes to places people wanted to go to but I suppose these marketing people have a job to do and put a shine on whatever they can.

I think the airport is spot on with its rebranding. It does what is says on the tin. If they get busy in the years to come they might need to redress it though.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
