Primarily a Friday and Saturday night thread for people to discuss their favourite tipples. Their latest Gin or Whisky collection or maybe the local ale.

Water for me..I`m suffering with the worst case of `Man Flu` on record...feeling terrible but I might have the strength left to pull the cork on a Rioja or maybe just brandy before bed with Vicks Inhaler and more water...boo hoo

It was obviously the right decision to save my three bottles of Whisky from Christmas as the next few mouths are going to be soooooo long.

Not alcohol related - but Black tea with Honey? It's my new choice of drink.

A) saves the sugar you will struggle to buy since assholes have gone mental. B) also saves using valuable milk which again you cannot get since assholes have gone mental.

If you have any, or if still on shelves at Holland and Barrett, Malt Extract does well with hot drinks or cereals. Soft and sticky, it is similar to Marmite but not as challenging regards taste. A teaspoon is enough for general sweetness. Made directly from milling instead of brewing. The Soya or nutmilks offer a nice alternative to dairy, the shelf raiders tend to stick with what they know, . I am using my winter reserves since winter failed to turn up!

Given the incredibly unseasonal April weather (for the better) and the impossibility of going out for a meal to a pub or restaurant at the moment, have people been resorting to barbecues in their own gardens on a more regular basis this month? They are always a good excuse for imbibing, if an excuse is ever necessary.

We are not hosts for barbecues - we haven't got any equipment for starters which does tend to make things slightly difficult - but our son and daughter-in-law, who live a couple of miles from us, often have them on fine summer evenings and we are usually invited.

Sadly, with the social distancing in place such events are a pleasant memory at the moment, but we live in hope that perhaps later in the summer the restrictions might be lifted a bit to allow more social intercourse at least within families, especially if testing becomes more widespread.

We've had a couple and will possibly have another this evening before the rain forecast for next week arrives. I've also had aromas from elsewhere on quite a few occasions so it seems as if our neighbours are also regularly indulging.

Likewise our BBQ's are usually a social occasion with family and/or friends attending but at the moment it's just Mrs F, the kids and I but with this glorious weather we're still enjoying them :)

I am sorry but I find Barbies offensive, as a vegetarian, the smell of seared flesh is bad enough but add cremated onions and other unfortunate things, assaults my senses, mainly consequential to my brain condition and side effects of medication. When the smoke enters my home It is a devil to eradicate since Windows are sealed shut.

It is no one's fault but my own genetics so feel free to indulge before the deluge arrives from Iberia, at least I have medical and fashion face masks at hand.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
