It does seem to be F70s this week on all rotations according to the KLM booking site.

However, a couple of test bookings for April show the E190 as operating the KL1049/1050 and the KL 1053/1054 each day as previously indicated in the booking engine.

Air France BRS-CDG

According to Mayfly the last Airlinair ATR 42 will depart BRS at 1245 this coming Saturday (30 March).

From the following day the service will be taken over by Air France's newly branded HOP! airline using E190s.

The good thing is that these aircraft have over twice the number of seats of the ATR 42; the not so good is that it will operate single daily just 6 x weekly (no Saturdays), in at 1600 and out at 1640.

I see air france are. and have been using an atr 72 this week. I wonder if because loads have picked up in general. or because its school break for easter.

Could be one of the reasons you suggest or it might just be availability. I'm not sure what the three arms of Air France's regional service are doing with their aircraft now they are being merged into HOP!

KLM: BRS-AMS winter 2013-2014

The current summer schedule of 4 x daily with two on the E190 and two on the F70 seems to be operating as rostered (as far as I can see, given my lack of daily contact with the airport).

When I checked the winter 2014/2014 timetables a couple of months ago the scheduling had dropped to the usual 3 x daily winter offering but with all flights to be operated by the E190.

A few random test bookings made today for next winter in each of the months (November-March) show a mixed picture.

Of the dates I checked some in November are all F70 whereas as the winter proceeds E190s appear on one and sometimes two daily rotaions until March when it appears to be all E190.

Furthermore, some dates in December, and not just around the holiday period, show 4 x daily with 3 F70s and 1 E190.

Just completed a test booking at the beginning of every winter month and it showed the following:
November, December & January - 4 x daily, 3 F70 & 1 E190

February & March - 3 x daily 3 E190

April - 2 F70 & 2 E190

I would suggest that this is an increase in capacity overall.

I wonder if the varying equipment through the winter is for operational reasons or commercial considerations.

Summer 2014

Some test bookings for May and June next year show 3 x E 190 daily and 1 x F 70 daily.

As before winter 2013/2014 seems to be a mixed picture depending on the dates chosen with the 'best' I found, on admittedly just a few random dates, being 2 x E 190 and 1 x F 70. Other dates I looked at showed 1 E 190 and 2 F 70s.

Air France: BRS-CDG

From this week the above service is being operated by an ARJ85 (presumably one of Cityjet's) which replaces the Hop! E190.

Whenever I've seen the E190 this summer it's always been in Air France livery rather than that of Hop! though.

When the E 190 service replaced the former multi-daily ATR service of Airlinair at the end of last winter it was rostered to fly only once a day but not on Saturdays which seems to have been the case this summer.

However, I note that this winter the service will be increased to daily.

There doesnt seem to be air france flights to paris next summer. Anyone know if air france are ceasing flights to bristol

That would appear to be the case unless there is some sort of glitch in the AF booking system.

In recent years the service has been running down from 3 x daily Airlinair ATR 72s to 42s, then to a 6 x weekly Air Hop! E190 this summer with a daily CityJet ARJ 85 doing the honours this winter.

Strangely, there is no availability to CDG shown via AMS with KLM/AF aircraft. There is such availability shown from other KLM Cityhopper airports such as LBA and CWL, and I'm sure there used to be from BRS as well as the direct AF service.

There hasn't been an option for a day trip to Paris this year since the summer season began and still wouldn't have been if the AF service continued next summer. easyJet only operates daily although it used to go double daily on some days in the past.

The fact that there has only been one late afternoon AF rotation since March obviously limits the number of connecting AF flights that can be used at CDG compared with the days when the ATRs went up to 3 x daily.

If AF has gone it will be a great shame, if only because it's the loss of another legacy airline, albeit KLM will still operate and is part of the AF/KLM Group.

Air france have certainly downgraded their service from bristol notably for business travellers. What with cardiff losing their flybe service to cdg , the wales/ west now only have one single daily easyjet service. Do we have any alternatives - perhaps bmi regional would fancy a go

I can't see any other airline taking on easyJet purely on a point to point route.

I don't know whether easyJet is to 'blame' if the AF route is going (certainly looks as if it is) because U2 only competes on the point to point section of the route.

By reducing its service to one daily, albeit with a larger aircraft, Air France must have reduced the options for transferring into AF long haul etc quite considerably because few passengers are prepared to wait for half a day or more for a connecting flight.

Hop! still has a considerable number of smaller aircraft, including ATRs, so it does seem strange that they did not continue along the lines of Airlinair with the multi-daily ATRs which gave greater flexibility for onward AF travel throughout the day.

Incidentally, keep an eye on Brussels Airlines. Next summer BRS-BRU is shown as ARJ 85, still 3 x daily (reports elsewhere suggest the Flybe Q400s are being returned) but according to my research SN doesn't have any of these any longer, only ARJ 100s which would be too big for the route.

I think Air France/KLM are still cutting jobs so it should come as no surprise really.

KLM Cityhopper - summer 2014

It seems that all four daily rotation on the BRS-AMS route will now by operated by the Embraer E190. Originally one of the four was shown as a Fokker 70.

Last summer it was two E190s and two F70s, so this will mean an increase of 80 seats on the route each day over last year, although this will be offset to a degree by easyJet reducing its BRS-AMS schedule to 9 x weekly from 10 x weekly in summer 2013.

Travelled on the AF CDG-BRS route last week. Horrendously cramped seating. The product just does not compare with U2. Strange that U2 reduced their CDG flights in winter.

I take it this was the CityJet ARJ85. The route was operated by Hop! E 190s last summer.

However, it seems that the direct AF BRS-CDG is definitely being axed from the end of March as the only summer options shown on the AF website are extremely expensive fares via Amsterdam, travelling to AMS with KLM Cityhopper. At least, the fares were very expensive on the dates I checked.

easyJet reduces to 4 x weekly in mid winter but will be back to daily from the second week in February. In view of the apparent absence of AF for the summer I wonder if easyJet will increase rotations during that period. They used to operate double daily then gradually reduced to daily but that was when AF had 3 x daily rotations, albeit with ATRs then.

yes one of those jet 4 engined (!!) planes. Looked like a bacteria next to the Emirates A380 as it came in to the stand in CDG.

However the AF gate E in CDG is infinitely preferable to Gate D that EZY flies out of. No comparison between those 2 sections of CDG. One is definitely for low cost airlines.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
