TUI base at DSA - Summer 2022
TUI will base 4x aircraft this summer at DSA and operate 62x weekly departures.
The base will consist of 3x B738 and 1x A320 according to the schedule (not sure where the A320 will be leased in from however). The A320 is scheduled to operate on flights to Greece and Spain. A B787 will also operate on a Sunday and Monday each week to Cancun and Melbourne Orlando.
62x weekly departures and 4x based aircraft make DSA TUIs 6th largest base (out of 17x UK and Irish bases) after NCL, BRS, BHX, LGW and MAN.
In 2015, there was only 2x based aircraft and 30x weekly flights, so the base has grown considerably since then.

SmartLynx Estonia A320 (ES-SAM) arrived today from Chateauroux, France ready to start it's summer season based at DSA for TUI.
It joins 2x TUI B738 already based at DSA (G-TAWA & G-TAWG).
A third B738 is also due to be based in the next month at DSA to bring the total based to four aircraft.

Well after a few weeks of constant delays and the odd cancellation the Smart Lynx A320 has been shipped out to EMA tonight, what fills the gap I am not sure as they need 4 aircraft to cover the routes but currently only have 3 737’s based at DSA

Because for the next few days (atleast) they only need 3 aircraft to cover the flights. When the forth is needed I’m sure they will bring it in. :)

Don't think the SmartLynx A320 is planned to fly for TUI from EMA, so most likely maintenance or re-paint?

I don't think that blaming everybody else is going to wash even though that, in essence, is what he is doing. TUI's right hand doesn't know (or cares) what its left hand is doing the majority of the time. From my experience of them they are the worst organised travel firm I have had the displeasure of dealing with so my recommendation to anyone thinking about booking with them is to think very hard before doing so. It is better than moaning afterwards.

Come on @airforced whilst some blame maybe given to airlines - the service at airports and by ground handlers lies firmly at the door of the government who badly let the industry down and the psychopaths in SAGE who produced false data and lied throughout the whole pandemic to lock us away.

The government need to accept they failed the industry. Despite calls from the outset to assist with a specialised package .....

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
