Sorry I cannot make heads or tails of all this.Although I'm a novice at such slot tech different figure presentations..

Fir me it seems to shoe..

The initial 2024 list released earlier today on here, shows increases in many Euro scheds yet the one above shows many of the same ones as decreases.

Likewise Qatar showed as planned increases yet the above shows decreases.

The above also suggests 1641 less slots planned than last summer must be wrong.

Can someone explain.

It is down overall because of FlyBe slots being in S23 totals

Good to see Qatar still have double daily slots.

Play and Turkmen have pulled their slots.

Overall a modest increase in slots.

2024 wont be a record year in my opinion.

actually Nigel, its is actually a wee bit missleading, because the summer 2024 period is actually 1 week shorter than summer 2023, so if you take Emirates as an example, they are 28 movements less than 2023, so we have 4 movements a day, 4 x 7 days (1 week) gives 28 less movements.

Hi & Thank you Matt955 for pointing that out ( 1 week shorter season) I was looking & wondering why some of the figures were less ie zimex/ek

I think there needs to be a pinch of salt given to looking at the exact figures and comparing 2023 vs 2024 figures. These aren't comparing actual flights/seats, but what has been applied for at the Inital Summer Report stage (....which this year has been issued 6-8 weeks later than it normally is for some reason)...

Things i use the Slot report for:

- Existing airlines who are looking at growth
- Existing airlines who are looking to reduce
- Any new airlines that could be interested in launching at BHX (though by Mid-december, this will normally be known by now)

Anything above this is anyones guess, and lets remember, Slots can be applied for at any time, the above report is simply a snapshot in time. Look at Turkish as a great example. The ACL report suggests a 2x daily / 14x weekly schedule, but we know in the last week, this has changed to 18x weekly. The above ACL slot report gives zero hints of growth.

Another reason i dont look to deeply into the number is as follows:

- 12,370,000 seats in the summer season to be provide? We'd be lucky to get that in a year
- Play down by -78,120 seats and Turkmenistan down by -19,840 seat, a total of nearly -100,000 seats comparing S23 with S24 over routes that have never flown from BHX

The ACL always makes for an interesting read but with the report being released so late this year, its especially out of date and redundant this year...

You also have a EK increase in around July time with a 2nd daily A380

How have you deduced that from the ACL report? The report suggests 522 pax per flight, which is an average of 615 (a high density A388) and 428 (a high density B77W).

I'm not suggesting it isn't going to happen, and with increased competition id be surprised if it doesnt, but just curious if you deduced that from the ACL Slot report....

Not aware of any confirmation from Emirates that the evening service will be upgraded to a A380 in July, unless you know something different?
It’s been on the plans since September, however watching the time taken for more A380s to be reactivated, I doubt July will be the return of the 2nd daily.

It’s been on the plans since September, however watching the time taken for more A380s to be reactivated, I doubt July will be the return of the 2nd daily.

Well until the 2nd Emirates 380 is re-introduced, Emirates wont be returning to pre-pandemic capacity at BHX. I know Emirates had hoped to have its full fleet back in operation by the end of 2023 but looks like that will be delayed.

With QR/SV/TK poised to grow in 2024, i hope EK will also respond! Fingers crossed we see a return of the 2nd 380 in summer 2024!

They only have a small sub fleet of 2 class A380s and I think only fly them to 8 destinations.A number are still either grounded or in heavy maintenance.
Hopefully they will be able to get them all back in the air for next summer to allow BHX to go back to double daily A380s.

Yes im sure it has been in the plans for a while, and yep its taking them ages to get the 615 seaters A380s all back in service, they still have one of the newer ones still stored in DWC since the pandemic hit in 2020!!

I make it 7 2class in service at present, 8 stored, one in DWC, one in TLS, and the rest in DXB! - must be costing them a fortunes with these beasts out of service!

The newer one needs a wing spar check up and a cabin refiguration, the one in TLS should be returning very soon, most likley next month. EOQ, EOS & EOY should also be done by the upcoming months followed by EOR and EUP

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
