indeed.... after a little battle between Eastern and Loganair, im happy a single airlines seems to have won-out making such routes bookable on a single planform and will hopefully help lift the profile of Loganair as a key regional airline at BHX... I feared a battle between Eastern and Loganair would have been a disaster...

fingers cross for NQY soon....

With 2021 the. staycation year & I think BHX is the only (?) Route not operating this year from Newquay…. & I suppose if it’s not this year it’s unlikely to be anytime soon

Every little helps (y)

Loganair is increasing seat capacity by 30% on its Birmingham-to-Aberdeen flights from summer 2023.

The Scottish carrier is doing this by deploying larger aircraft capable of taking more passengers.

Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “As we see growing demand across a number of services, we are thrilled to expand our offering.”

Tom Screen, aviation director for Birmingham Airport, added: “This strong regional connectivity supports economic growth.”

I will be updating Loganairs aircraft tomorrow to bhx.Which operates from Isle of Man,Inverness and Aberdeen

Great to see Loganair doing well and particularly encouraging that people are using the service to interline with Emirates :)

Isle of Man resident, Sidney Cunningham, was Loganair’s 30,000th passenger to fly from Isle of Man to Birmingham and as a result, was gifted a free return flight courtesy of Loganair.

Sidney was using Loganairs interline agreement with Emirates to travel to Dubai via Birmingham.

Yes good to see the little guys doing well and Loganair have a good reputation for sticking around and decent service.

Also good to see the possible return of Turkmenistan if accurate as they have shown commitment to BHX although I'm beginning to think the onwards connections to the sub continent are gettining a bit crowded with Emirates, Qatar, Saudi and Turkish (just returned to double daily)not forgetting Air India of course and the probability PIA returning some form or another at some point.

All in all things looking up.

BHX to NYC please ☺

Not good news when reading the reasons. I wonder if other airlines will be looking closely at this increase, where margins are tight.

shame to see it go, but their fleet has never been on that is overly efficient in its own right.... Q400/ATR7s are ideal for a route like this, not smaller planes with less passangers to cover the cost of the fuel burn.

Loganair ATR42 hold 48 pax. With one way fares between £140-£180 per person, a full flight would generate the airline £6,700 - £8,600. If adding just £99.84 as a max (a reduction of between 1.1% and 1.4% in revenue on a full flight) brings into question the viability of the route, then that show you how tight margins must have been!

5 trips done and 45 miles walked,. Also the RAF has had 4 F35B Lightning follow me yesterday and today....
My plans got altered slightly as one of the minibus companies had to cancel 3 trips and refunded me but will be getting nice discount when I rebook them.
wondering why on my "holidays" I choose to get up 2 hours earlier than when going to work. 6 trips in 6 days soon coming up with 3 more days to sort out
