Excellent effort Vinny94. I find FR24 don't show military, however Planefinder does!!. This is the paid for version of course (£2.99?) and not the Planefinder Lite which is free and full of adverts!. I saw the C-17 doing a few circuits and earlier the Airbus A400-M doing the same. Planefinder is full of military movements recently as they are making the most of the empty skies and quiet civil airports.

Hi there, i'd be very interested in this service as there seems to be plenty of military planes in the air and it seems to be one way of passing the time, tracking the planes that are near us here in the Midlands. Can you confirm which site has the data for military planes please. It seems planefinder is £1.99 per month or £9.99 per year, just want to be sure it is the site you recommend as you quoted £2.99. I wouldn't want to subscribe to a site other than FR24 if it's much the same.
Thanks in advance.

A C17 was circling around Birmingham last week and strangely enough, that one appeared on FR24, but this one didn't. I heard a A330 voyager heading east to Europe the other day and heard the loud rumble from far away and that was on the FR24 as well.

I have noticed that Voyagers are on FR24 for the routine training flights over the North Sea and some flights from Prestwick and Akrotiri but never when operating a QRA with Typhoons. I also never track Atlas flights though I do hear them as they descend towards BZZ. My location is quite good for RAF and some USAFE overflights together with civilian inbounds booking up to Honiley and R33.

A good tracker service would be invaluable.

Hi CoalPowered. I was hazarding a guess at Plane Finder price, but I believe it is a one off payment, unless they have changed things?. I've had it over 3 years now. Some of their info regarding an aircraft's route is often dodgy though!. Their main advantage over FR24 is that most aircraft of significance carry an I.D. tag. Very useful while the military are visiting. Otherwise FR24 in my opinion is superior.

Thank you for your help and thanks to GliderPilot too for the input.

Hello everyone I hope you are keeping safe & doing well...

Someone has said to me that next week we are expecting a heavy aircraft. Not sure what he means if we are getting more MNG, another cargo aircraft or reqatration flights like we've seen at Manchester with the Kuwait 777s. If you guys have any info on this it would be helpful.

& Don't worry i don't plan to go to BHX to catch it. I am hoping runway 15 is in use, it flies over Walsall & the weather is clear.

For clarity, when in an airport page, FR24 normally lists those aircraft on ground together with arrivals and departures, all subject to disclaimer and information provided. Thank you Kevin for trying to help.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
