I don`t bother until it ready to taxy as with Turkish they have such a large fleet and so many reasons it could change at last moment

is it end of scool holidays down your way or possibly plenty of cargo for earthquake victims

I'm fairly certain that it's the end of school half term holidays. When I was a kid, at school in Walsall our half term was a week different to Birmingham. Now, looking online, Birmingham, Walsall and Wolverhampton all have the same half term dates.

Yes, agreed the end of half term will be the main reason for the upgrades.

When searching on flightradar back to November, it's interesting to note the afternoon flight has only been upgraded on 3 occasions prior to today. It seems to be the morning flight that sees a widebody more often. I would have expected the upgrades to be equally split across both flights.

The morning flight may offer better/more convenient connections than the afternoon flight.
If we take ISB or DEL as examples, then the most optimum schedule on Turkish is the morning flight for outbound connection and returning via the afternoon flight. To travel on the same flight from/to BHX will involve a 20+ hour stopover in Istanbul on one of the legs! This is because both destinations are once daily from Istanbul.

If anything, it shows Turkish loads are more than just connections to South Asia, there is a good mix of traffic to Istanbul region (outside of the winter months) plus I imagine cargo too.

FR24 is showing Monday's TK1967 as an A330-300. No details yet. I wonder if that's a copy over from Saturday's and Sunday's flights?

I also note that BHX had a Cavok An-12 (UR-CKL, CVK7018) arrive from ALG at 18:17. No departure listed. Seems a while since an An-12 has visited, but always good to see them.

Turkish website currently show both monday's flights to be operated by the A321neo, and A321 at present

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
