Just noticed the following NOTAM

HELIPORT DUE TO LOSS OF LICENCE

Anyone know why Coney Park - Leed Heliport has lost its Licence permanently?

They haven’t, they’ve relinquished their licence because they don’t need to be a licensed aerodrome. They’ll continue to operate as normal.

The heliport is also temporarily closed according to a notice on the Helijet website.

I thought licensed airfields had to maintain certain minimum standards such as crash cover. Aircraft inurers used to have a clause prohibiting aircraft operating into unlicensed airfields unless extra premiums were paid. If thats still the case it may reduce their movements.
