I know that operationally this has to happen from time to time, but an airline that mainly pushes its green credentials, flying a flight from London to Cardiff to move crew is shocking
The only time I've ever seen an Airline moving crew around by flight is when there is already a flight happening and just diverting it to drop them off.

Imagine the flight got cancelled and all the passengers had to drive home and back again the next day in their cars because of the cancellation. That's not green either.

Or move the aircraft to do the flight if it's spare?
Depends on the situation. There's several circumstances but the more regular one is a pilot or single cabin crew member. It means you can still board the original aircraft and have everything ready to go. Additional crew member gets on and their away avoiding additional delay of loading and boarding. Usually spare aircraft are only used if the other is out of service for some reason.

Wizz are opening a subsidiary in Malta, not sure how many aircraft will be based there but it could be an opportunity to get the link back to Malta with a non-based Wizz aircraft. Fingers crossed.

The aviation industry does seem to be having problems with staffing in general which unfortunately effects people's holidays and travel arrangements.

Looking at the Cardiff Airport departure board and at the moment Alicante is down for a 1700 departure and Faro for a 1940 so it may well be we could see another aircraft position in to operate Faro with the crew from Cardiff operating due to operate Faro operate Alicante.
Apparently G-WUKE will position in from Doncaster to operate Faro.

Good to see that Wizz brought in an a320 to operate faro today. 186 seats instead of 230 - some 44 seats fewer. Do we think the load was fewer than 186 or did wizz put some pax on the Ryanair ?

I'd expect that the load was under the 186.

Looks like Wizz has had more crewing problems yesterday resulting in the Larnaca flight leaving late and the crew running out of time in Larnaca. That arrivals flight returns this morning while an aircraft will position in from Luton to operate this mornings Lanzarote which will be late.

Wizz have just announced the scaling back of operations at DSA.
Let’s hope the CWL base is performing to expectations. If so, could it pick up an additional aircraft and routes?

Might give them spare aircraft for Summer 2023 but let's see what happens part of the statement criticised DSA management so maybe that relationship could be repaired in the future and the base reopened.

WIZZ have previously stated that are looking at other airports in the UK, with a view to expansion, but it would be great to see a second aircraft at CWL, let's hope that their loads improve as the summer progresses, it is a good opportunity for them now with so many people complaining about TUI.

I have just read on the Yorkshire Live website, that all Cabin Crew, and Pilots affected, have been offered places at other UK bases, could be good for CWL.

I'd be very surprised if any relocated to Wales most i'd expect would maybe look to work out of Luton and maybe Gatwick.

Who wants to live in London? More expensive and South Wales is much more beautiful.
Well it depends on the individuals but i'd imagine that commuting to Luton would be more possible than Wales, i guess it depends if the person wants to uproot themselves or stay local if they want to continue to work for Wizz but i'd imagine most would look for jobs elsewhere, i'm sure TUI would be happy to take on new crew and the likes of Easyjet at Manchester airbus pilots.

I guess a lot of people want to live in London, the experience of a big city and job opportunities that aren’t available in Wales.

Wizz air pilots choosing to live in Luton, not so sure. although I imagine areas North of London aren’t as expensive and congested as greater London.

It's been reported elsewhere that from the 2nd July the timings for Faro, Alicante and Mallorca will change on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
CWL-FAO 0605-0850 FAO-CWL 0930-1205
CWL-ALC 1325-1655 ALC-CWL 1735-1855
CWL-PMI 1930-2245 PMI-2325-0045
It also looks like for the rest of June that Alicante and Mallorca have swapped with Alicante now being the 0605 departure and Mallorca a 1220 departure meaning Faro is a 1825 departure.
It'll be interesting to see if those timings become the winter timings as well for Faro and Alicante.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
