Therefore reading between the lines I would assume there’ll be little by way of growth next year, but more of a rationalisation/refinement of what they’ve run this year.

With their data from the market they’ll be able to adjust frequencies/routes to suit.

They could use non based aircraft but that would have to be a decision made in concert with Wizz in europe as it'll be their aircraft operating them. I think it'll be interesting to see how some of the routes do especially Corfu, Heraklion and Sharm el Sheikh which have traditionally been more for the likes of TUI from Cardiff than a LCC.

Even judging from those loads so far, an A320 would have nearly as poor LF’s.

It’s still early days, and i’m sure Wizz aren’t too alarmed just yet. They did say they’re looking for 75% over the course of the whole season so that’s still achievable for CWL, and they’ve got the 3-year timeframe for the base to be profitable so I doubt the axe will come any time soon. The LCA that flew out yesterday had 6 spare seats on it, so there are pockets of some really decent loads!

The pull of BRS is just too much for most still, even with Wizz, the number of people I see who default to EZY and FR from BRS without even checking fares etc is crazy.

Not entirely sure what’s going on with G-WUKI … Landed back late from LCA last night, then positioned over to LTN, and now G-WUKI is to come back from LTN and operate TFS with a delay of 3 hours or so?

It went to operate Luton Belgrade and i believe got delayed on that flight.

Simply because the CWL based aircraft just sits on the tarmac Friday morning and so if it’s needed elsewhere it’s going to be used and will now have a knock on effect to Cardiff for their own timetable.

Wizz summer 2023 flights released from nearly all airports apart from Cardiff! Hopefully nothing to worry about, but not a good look as is stands!

Hopefully you are right just find it strange that all of Wizz network is on sale for S23 apart from Cardiff! What was stopping the schedules being released with all the others?

Probably doesn't help that it is a single aircraft base and relatively new; they're more than likely looking into what routes do well year-round and what should be seasonal, or what should be cut and replaced altogether.

Unless of course they're looking at adding more aircraft. Who knows!?

But yes, absolutely nothing to worry about at the moment. A solid summer schedule released later is better than a rushed one that will require changes - and as a result inconvenience passengers.

Just noticed that W22/23 isn’t finalised either!

On Tuesdays and Saturdays they have

12:10 ALC
13:05 SSH
18:25 FAO

Too early to start worrying in my opinion. Still not through August and September yet.

CWL social media said yesterday that they was still finalising the schedule for next summer, so no idea what is going on then!

This is what concerns me most…

But then normally if/when an airline makes any drastic changes, the airport is often the last to find out.

I pray it’s not bad news! :(

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
