Thanks for all the great pics. Especially exciting to see mention of "Pier 2, Phase 1" (!)

My apologies for not having included OAN 04-2019 previously on this thread - better late than never!

2.1 The overall programme of work will commence on Tuesday 5th February 2019.
2.2 The scheduled works completion date is Friday 15th March 2019.
2.3 Overall: Monday to Friday, with daily working times of 08:00 - 18:00L. There may be a requirement for some weekend shifts; the ADM will be advised in advance.

3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The overall scope of work incorporates the delivery and installation of five PBB’s on to the eastside of the new Pier 1, Terminal 2.
3.2 All work will be located within the airside compound surrounding Pier 1.
3.3 All PBB deliveries will enter the airfield via the Rendezvous Point (RVP) West gate at Stand 66. From there, under Airfield Operations escort, they will travel via the road system and Taxilane NovemberAlpha to the allocated stand on the new pier.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Taxilane November-Alpha will be closed temporarily for the delivery of each PBB on the dates shown at paragraph 2.4. The closures will be coordinated via the ADM and the ATC Watch Manager.
4.2 RVP West will be utilised for the delivery of the PBB’s. If RVP West is activated for an emergency response, the PBB’s delivery will be suspended until the access gate is once again available.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 The work will have no effect on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.

I think you are correct Marni in that these certainly have not been posted on this thread before.

From my visit to the T2X work I seem to recall that the lounge in the small frame will be used by Virgin Atlantic.

Preparatory work on Pier 2 base - this will initially, I believe a bussing lounge to the remote stands.

For those with little experience of construction terminology (such as me) VCC refers to: Vertical Circulation Core which, in the case of Stansted, is an air bridge connecting the terminal forecourt to a combined lift shaft and stairwell, this then leads to a 200m covered walkway.

Educated guess given the context here it’s the very beginning of pier two, the part which will include the “vertical circulation” for passengers down to the bussing lounge at its base. If I recall this part was fast tracked to open next April with T2X.

I've found what I think is a recent rendering from the air and circled what I think would be the Pier 2 VCC.

Also, is it confirmed that piers 2 and 3 are that short?

Also, something that I know is outside of the MANTP scope but I'm desperate to learn more about are plans for T1 Pier C... (that's the one closest to T2, right?)
