Every time I tried to transit I was told airside transfers was shut. So I didn't bother booking via MAN
As a Liverpool area poster, on what occasions do you need to consider changing flights at MAN as a midpoint of your journey? Just curious ...

I'm sorry if this has been spoken about before, and it probably has, but I just can't get my head around the potential figures being projected. From my understanding, T2 is forecasted to handle 25mppa at capacity, which would equate to 80% of the airports total capacity. So if you work out the capacity based on T2 figures then the total will be 31m and that leaves 6m to make up the extra 20%.
However, if that was correct, then as soon as T2 is fully operational, it will be at capacity. But if you take into account the T2 can handle 6,000 bags per hour you get a total of 37m based on running 17 hours per day 365 days of the year. Which could bring it roughly in line with 35m leaving T3 to handle 10m.
Now to me that seems logical but the figures that have been presented by MAN are different, which is why I'm getting so confused. Can anyone else shed any light on this because the math ain't mathing.
Couple of quick snaps I took earlier of Pier 2 materialising for anyone interested...View attachment 30544View attachment 30545
Technically, yes. It is sat on the first pier 2 stand (and was the old temporary bussing lounge circa 2019) but it seems open to debate. Is that Jet2 building going before the completion?

I’d doubt it. It’s located on the first gate for pier 2 (the airbridge would come out directly above its roof)Will that building be incorporated into the Terminal its self?
Certainly food for thought. T2X was originally a replacement for T1, not expansion (as per the original planning application) - with the airport getting busier and the rethink of the piers it makes you wonder.Good to see progress on this. Still makes me wonder if it’s rather short sighted not to see the other two previously planned piers constructed. With the closing/mothballing of T1 and only Ryanair using T3 and some area of T1, surely there won’t be enough gate or parking space with the current layout especially if Pier C remains in place? Surely the demolition of this, plus the addition of the two further piers at T2, means the airport wouldn’t necessarily have to consider doing anything in terms of a new terminal on the space occupied by the current T1. Just a thought!
Bet someone got paid some serious dosh to come up with that gem!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aether_(mythology) Aether is of Greek mythology the "personification of the bright upper sky"
Looking like T3 will end up using T1 security and entering 3 via the southern front.
Using T1 check in also. Easy jet part.
