Yep there was a good shot of the front of the airport with it's name and the Frankfurt route was mentioned but not the airline who operates it. Good pr for the airport!

If yield is matching the LF then this is sounding ripe for frequency increase, or at the very least an equipment upgrade

I think 2 per day would be ideal, it surely must be being thought about now. I think yields are good, I've seen some eye-wateringly high fares at times when I've checked . They are getting business class passengers too.

Its interesting to learn where people go when using connecting flights. The newish Liverpool - Frankfurt service, at the moment is connecting people to other European destination, such as Berlin, Hanover, and some Scandinavian destination are popular.

Outside Europe, Cairo, Cape Town, Singapore and Algiers , are the destinations which reappear . As the route expands, as will the transfer possibilities will to.

Via Frankfurt I take you mean so how long will that take when you can fly with Lufthansa group non stop from MAN next spring

Yes via Frankfurt. I don't live or work in Manchester, Liverpool is always the easier option.

Perhaps I could have frazed it better how long is the connection in FRA and is it by rail

Very unfortunate news, last half hour.

Lufthansa appear ready to cut the Liverpool route, with flights beyond the 2nd February cancelled.

Would be a big loss for the airport following a large quantity of new routes being added over the last year.

@SeanM1997 on X

Just headed on to Lufthansa's website to confirm this, and it appears to be partly true. Very odd scheduling on their end.

1 flight bookable in January on the 12th, then no flights until the 18th April before resuming as 6 weekly until the 27th May.

No flights from then until the 25th September where 6 weekly flights resume until the 14th October where it is reduced to 4 weekly. Bookable from then as far as the 29th November.

Its a disaster, if this fails, I dont see Liverpool ever having a hub link. Ironically im sat in the aspire lounge about to fly to Frankfurt with Lufthansa today. Two girls in front of me travelling to Chatanooga....!

Lufthansa will suspend operations at Liverpool from the 2nd February due to the airline being short of aircraft. It is understood that this is not a permanent decision and once the problem has been solved, they will try start the route back up again.

Unfortunate news and I hope Lufthansa can get their problem sorted quickly.

It is understood that this decision was a very hard one to make due to the complete success of the route, but Lufthansa just don't have enough aircraft to cover the demand.

Let's hope this problem is short lived and the route resumes soon.

Bristol Airport has also had it's connection to Frankfurt suspended, last flight on the 3rd February.

I hope so, however they will loose a lot of good will, it will pretty much be like re-starting.

Aer Lingus still going and being upgauged ?
I think so

Not a great Christmas gift from LH. It's completely out of the blue, the airport and Lufthansa had just decided a marketing strategy for summer 24.

It isn't just LPL, my local is seeing cuts in January/February with ceratin flights totally cut from the schedules.

My guess is this is due to A320neo engine problems. Lufthansa are among the airlines affected. They’ve probably dropped routes at such short notice because they were waiting for a timescale for engines to be recalled by the manufacturer.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
